I was in a spider guard 50/50 mix and my partner pushed my leg off and my knee locked up. It felt like my IT band slipped over a bone. It reset with a very audible thud that we both heard. My leg is fine now, I'll be going to a doctor Monday.

Anyone have this happen?

Is spider guard hard on the knees?

Do knee braces help?

This happened when I was 17 also. The doctor I saw said my knee was fine, but didn't know what caused it. There is no pain or mobility issues. However, the first time I did it it hurt like hell.

If it felt like your IT band actually slipped over a bone and then reset, it's likely that is what happened but i would also check for meniscal damage.

This happens to me too, but only if I'm around funky electronic music.

The doctors can't explain it.

Poppin and lockin is a new way of talkin.

I have similar.... Knee locks , excruciating pain, straighten it back out with a pop and pain disappears.

Does your knee remain "tender " for a while after?

I've also been told meniscus but I figure I can deal with it for now

Catching and locking is a sign of a torn meniscus. Get it checked by a doctor.
