despite the guy's size. He'll still be able to own glass chin klitschko.
Yes , povetkin is not known for his ko power.
Yes , klitschko may have one of the best jab in the HW div since Larry Holmes.

But , it doesn't change shit. Povetkin has the best combos , he's versatile.
with a top notch chin , super endurance , very technical fighter.
He has what it takes to beat the big guy.

Too early to say. There have been a lot of sure-thing prospects who suddenly looked vulnerable when they stepped up in competition....Wlad for example looked even better on his way up than Povetkin does now.

But there is certainly room to beat Klitshko as 3 guys have already proven (and Peter and WIlliamson had a shot at) so there is the hope/expectation that someone with fewer flaws willl come along and supplant him as the top HW. Povetkin seems a likely choice, but with the belts not unified and Kiltschko and the other champs fighting once every 9 months, when do you see him getting his shot? I would say 2009 at the earliest and I'm not sure that a 33 year old Klitschko, if he even survives guys like Peter and Chagaev, is going to be looking for more fights, especially against tough opponents like that.

As panda said, the crawl of time dictates it might not happen anyway. But regardless, at this point its bogus to make a prediction like that. Right now, Povetkin would be brutally KO'd. He simply doesn't have ring experience with top class heavyweights. With more experience its possible. Povetkin could definitiely be a guy who knocks Wlad off. Then again so could Peter, or even Chagaev, so once again the odds are slim of this fight ever happening.

Yep, Povetkin is the best fighter in the heavyweight division and will prove it within a couple of years. He needs to polish his defense, however.

as stated before... it's way too soon to say this about povetkin. although he is probably one of the best current heavyweight prospects out of russia, he's gotten the exposure because of the win over an aging larry donald.
it is likely that in the near future he will face denis boytsov, who imho is a more impressive fighter (although both have faced a low-level competition at this point). i would say that boytsov will derail povetkin's rise to the top and has the potential to be the next big thing out of eastern europe.

Isn't it too early for the hype? I like him but he needs to fight at least one or two top 50 guys to see what hes made of. He hasn't fought a single top 100 boxer yet.

I'm all for any HW to come up and pull a Mike Tyson, but this guy wouldn't be able to do it 10-15 years ago when the HW division was at it's prime. Right now maybe, but I'm skeptical. I admit aside from a few things here and there I don't know much about him. Klinchko's problem right now is he's not using enough instincts to win. He show some again Byrd, but he wasn't scared at all. Against, Brewster I don't blame him after the knockout, but he could have finished off Peter in the late rounds if he thrown more rights. Klitchsko please throw the right hand, it's even better than your jab.:icon_neut

100 is a huge exaggeration. Larry Donald, David Bostice, Friday Ahuayana and Richard Bango all easily meet that criteria.

brewster or whatever his name is, was known for his Ko power and what happen....
