Anthony Joshua and his camp want Wembley Stadium for his first defense on July 9th, which just so happens to be the same date that Klitschko-Fury II happens somewhere in Manchester.

What a crazy fuckin day of boxing that would be. I love the idea of it, and seems to be a way for Joshua to set up a fight with the winner.

I only wonder how they broadcast something like that. No way would they fight at the same time, or maybe they would, I have no idea.

Either way. They should do it.

Pretty sure that's the same weekend as the European championship finals, Wimbledon finals and the British grand prix too. So add in the Fury and Joshua fights and you have an incredible couple of days of sport.

AJ better set up like Martin and take a tough opponent and not some can. Ortiz deserve a shot but I bet AJ doesnt give him one in his first defense.

Basically a pissing match between the promotors in which they both lose out.

The only way I see Joshua filling Wembley is by fighting Haye (even then there's no guarantee), and that would be a high risk fight for him at this stage.

Klitschko-Fury II and Joshua-Ortiz on the same day would be pretty damn good.

Ortiz is with GBP and HBO. So it should be a makeble fight and they could set up a fight between the winners and leave Wilder and Showtime out inthe cold.

I know AJ fight was shown on Showtime but I dont think he is tied to them or did AL pull a Don King move yesterday and get AJ under him.

I suspect Matchroom will move the date, as no one will buy a PPV that clashes with Fury-Wlad, unless they put AJ back on normal sky sports for a mandatory.

The first fight sucked. Wlad missed almost every punch he threw. Tyson Fury needs to catch a beating for giving Catholics a bad name and for being a douche. I just don't think a 40 year old Klitschko is the guy to do it....Hope I'm wrong.

UFC 200 is also on that day in the states, huge day for combat sports.

I think Hearn has ties to Al Haymon, Joshua is much more likely to get Wilder than Ortiz, Hearn will see Ortiz as low-reward for a very high risk, he has a far better chance of beating Wilder.

Ortiz doesn't have the name recognition to sell out Wembley - needs to be a British fighter at this stage of Joshua's career

Yeah I don't know how two big boxing shows on the same day like this is good. It's a pissing match by people who care more for money than the actual sport. To top it off, if it's true about UFC 200 and Wimbledon and F1 which I'm a fan of, then this would be no good. I imagine people don't have all damn day to sit around the tv or disposable income enough to attend more than one even, I sure don't.

They had UFC in the UK at the same time as Frampton/Quigg and I heard both arenas were packed

Manchester arena - 21,000
O2 arena - 20,000
Wembley stadium - 90,000

Difference between getting 41,000 and 121,000 people to watch something.

They will change the date.

Eddie already said they might move it a week either side.

Knowing Eddie he'd put it the week before to maximise profit.

Man I hate Fury. This clown has no class whatsoever. Hope Wlad kicks his ass in the rematch.

yeah what an epic weekend. Wimbledon, F1, Klitschko, UFC 200 and Euro Final. I usually work weekends, have to take a long weekend off for all of that. Dont really care about tennis but watch it if its on.

For the fight I am getting the feeling win or lose might be Klitschkos last fight.
