Vinnie Jones Reunites with Matthew Vaughn for KINGSMAN: THE GOLDEN CIRCLE

db67MNa.jpg

Character actor Vinnie Jones has taken to Twitter to reveal that he’s reunited with director Matthew Vaughn for the upcoming Kingsman: The Golden Circle in an undisclosed role.

A former professional footballer Jones first film credit was in the Guy Ritchie-directed, Matthew Vaughn-produced Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. The pair continued to collaborate with Jones appearing in Snatch and being cast as The Juggernaut in X-Men: The Last Stand before Vaughn’s departure.

Taron Egerton returns as Eggsy for Kingsman: The Golden Circle with Mark Strong reprising the role of Merlin from the first film. Halle Berry is appearing as the head of the CIA, Game of Thrones star Pedro Pascal will appear as a character conveniently named “Jack Daniels,” with Channing Tatum in an unknown role, and Julianne Moore playing the film’s central villain.

Edward Holcroft is also set to appear in the film, though whether he will reprise as his character from the first is unclear. Sir Elton John will also make an appearance in his first acting role since The Pinball Wizard in 1975’s Tommy. The Dude himself, Jeff Bridges, is also appearing in an unknown role.

Matthew Vaughn returns to write and direct Kingsman: The Golden Circle, which sees Eggsy heading to the United States where he’ll meet his match in a “swaggering, sharpshooting cowboy.” The film opens on June 16, 2017.

Jeff Bridges Joins KINGSMAN: THE GOLDEN CIRCLE

hxgZCiQ.jpg

The Dude will next be fighting for Queen and Country in some capacity, as Jeff Bridges has joined the cast of Kingsman: The Golden Circle, Matthew Vaughn’s follow up to his 2015 over the top spy actioner Kingsman: The Secret Service.

The Iron Man and The Big Lebowski actor confirmed the news this morning the same way almost every other new cast member has: on Twitter, with a Kingsman poster bearing cryptic text suggesting something about his character. “The only golden circle I want vexing me,” the image says, “is the one my glass leaves behind on the table.”

Picking up from where the original film left off, Kingsman: The Golden Circle sees Chav-turned-superspy Gary “Eggsy” Unwin (Taron Egerton) and his supervisor Merlin (Mark Strong) heading to the US to join forces with the “Statesman”, the Kingsman agency’s American counterparts, after the destruction of Kingsman HQ at the hands of evil mastermind Poppy (Julianne Moore).

The film also sees the return of Colin Firth as Harry Hart (despite the character’s apparent death in the first outing), joined this time out by Halle Berry, Channing Tatum, Edward Holcroft, Sophie Cookson, Pedro Pascal, and, no really, Sir Elton John.

Vaughn is directing the 20th Century Fox film from a script he cowrote with Jane Goldman. Kingsman: The Golden Circle hits theaters 16 June 2017.

Channing Tatum Joins the Cast of KINGSMAN: THE GOLDEN CIRCLE

b7QCEU5.jpg

Channing Tatum has joined cast of Kingsman: The Golden Circle, Matthew Vaughn’s sequel to his 2014 action spy hit, the actor confirmed on Wednesday. "I'm about to get all up in that Golden Circle. #Kingsman," Tatum tweeted.

Taron Egerton and Mark Strong are the returning castmembers and Colin Firth is due to return as well, although in what capacity remains shrouded. The movie is casting up as it heads into a production start in early May in London. Julianne Moore, Halle Berry and Pedro Pascal are among the new named on the roll call.

The new movie continues the adventures of a wayward tough (Egerton) from the wrong side of London who was taken in and, a la Pygmalion, turned into the best and brightest of British operatives.

Tatum’s role is unclear as he was offered several, according to sources. The roles ranged from supporting to cameos. He could even end up playing himself. Elton John is also in talks to join the production and his role is equally being kept secret. Kingsman: The Golden Circle opens June 16, 2017.

Elton John Joins the Cast of KINGSMAN: THE GOLDEN CIRCLE

Elton John is in talks to join the cast of Kingsman: The Golden Circle, Matthew Vaughn’s sequel to his 2014 action spy hit. It is unclear what role John is taking, although he could be playing himself.

The pop icon will join a cast that includes returning star Taron Egerton and new castmembers Julianne Moore, Halle Berry and Pedro Pascal, among others. Mark Strong is also set to return, and the production has strongly hinted that Colin Firth, who perished in the first installment, will be coming back as well.

While John has been involved in movies before — he won an Oscar for his musical work on 1994’s The Lion King — his acting efforts have been mostly limited to voiceovers for shows such as The Simpsons, in which he played himself, or acting as a narrator in DreamWorks Animation’s The Road to El Dorado.

[Update: Elton John confirms he has joined Kingsman: The Golden Circle by releasing a new poster for the film. The image reads “Wednesday night’s alright for fighting” (a parody of John’s song “Saturday Night’s Alright for Fighting”) but also featuring a pair of his trademark sunglasses. “It’s been a long time since Tommy…..” John wrote in his post, citing the last time he acted in a feature film.]

Pedro Pascal Joins the Cast of KINGSMAN: THE GOLDEN CIRCLE

NPqmzyg.jpg

Pedro Pascal, who so flamboyantly played Oberyn Martell in Game of Thrones before meeting an infamously grisly end, has joined Matthew Vaughn’s Kingsman: The Golden Circle.

Pascal’s character is believed to be called Jack Daniels. Vaughn’s second installment of the stylish spy caper, the original of which grossed over $415 million for Fox, is casting up ahead of starting production later this year.

In addition to lead Taron Egerton and the returning Edward Holcroft, Halle Berry and Julianne Moore are also believed to be in the mix. Vaughn and Jane Goldman wrote the script for the sequel to Kingsman: The Secret Service.

In addition to his swashbuckling Martell, Pascal has also drawn acclaim for his recurring role in Netflix’s Narcos as the dogged cop Javier Pena, hunting down notorious drug baron Pablo Escobar. The actor also has Zhang Yimou’s eagerly-awaited U.S.-China co-pro The Great Wall in post-production.

KINGSMAN: THE GOLDEN CIRCLE Poster Teases Colin Firth's Return

With more than a year to go before its release, Taron Egerton took to Twitter Thursday to release a new teaser image for Kingsman: The Golden Circle, suggesting that the world hasn't seen the last of Harry Hart.

Egerton tweeted the image — which features the famous Mark Twain misquote, "Reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated," beneath a pair of glasses worn by Hart, Colin Firth's character in the first Kingsman — with the caption, "A message from an old friend."

Whether this means that Firth's Hart definitely survived his shooting by Samuel L. Jackson's Richmond Valentine in the first movie, or just that someone in the movie wants to make that appear to be the case is likely to remain unclear for awhile longer, of course. Kingsman: The Golden Circle will be released on June 16, 2017.

Official Title, Plot Details and Concept Art for KINGSMAN 2 Revealed

Empire Magazine has revealed that the Kingsman sequel will be titled Kingsman: The Golden Circle, and with that comes the first official concept art from the movie. Below, we see destroyed Kingsman HQ, the Statesman HQ (which is the American version of the spy organisation), and Poppyland, the secret lair of lead villain Poppy (played by Julianne Moore). It's after that attack that Eggsy and Merlin head to the US, an organisation led by a "swaggering, sharpshooting cowboy" called Jack and Halle Berry's Ginger.

Asked about his plans for The Golden Circle, director Matthew Vaughn said: "I didn't know if I wanted to direct this or not. I was worried about the villain. Spy films are only as good as their villains. Then one morning I woke up with the whole storyline in place, and a new villain plot."

002%20-%20Copy.jpg

As for whether he intends to try and recreate that awesome church sequence from The Secret Service, he added, "You try not to read what people want, but they do want another church sequence. I have no reason for another massacre to happen. But I have other sequences you've never seen before." That will apparently include a skiing sequence, a barroom brawl, robot dogs, one-armed henchmen, and the heroes being attacked by what Vaughn calls, "a massive f***ing frankfurter."

Edward Holcroft Returning for Matthew Vaughn's KINGSMAN 2

ttMrUB7.jpg

Up-and-coming Brit actor Edward Holcroft is returning to Matthew Vaughn’s Kingsman 2. Holcroft, whose character was thought to have died in the first film, established himself as a suitably dashing and dastardly foil to Taron Egerton’s lead.

Matthew Vaughn’s stylish secret caper grossed over $415 million for Fox. Holcroft’s return to the fold suggests the writer-director has a few tricks up his sleeve for the second installment.

Holcroft is one of the UK’s most exciting young talents, with well-received turns in the award-winning Wolf Hall opposite homme-du-jour Mark Rylance and a small but crucial role in Working Title TV’s London Spy opposite Ben Whishaw. He has also just appeared on stage in Les Liaisons Dangereuses. He has Ritesh Batra’s The Sense of an Ending in the pipelines, appearing alongside Jim Broadbent and Charlotte Rampling.

Halle Berry Returns to the Spy Game in KINGSMAN 2

vDYLK37.jpg

Halle Berry, who as the character Jinx Johnson famously strolled out of the sea to join forces with James Bond in 2002’s Die Another Day, is about to step into another super-spy franchise, Kingsman 2.

The actress is in talks to play a CIA head opposite Taron Egerton in Kingsman 2, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.

Director Matthew Vaughn is currently assembling the elements for the sequel to his surprise hit Kingsman: The Secret Service, which grossed more than $414 million worldwide when it was released by Fox in 2015.

Berry will next be seen in the thriller Kidnap, whose release got caught up in the Relativity bankruptcy proceedings but which is currently scheduled to open May 13.

Julianne Moore to Play the Villain in Matthew Vaughn's KINGSMAN 2

Julianne Moore is in talks to play the villain in The Kingsman 2, the sequel to the Fox surprise hit that starred Colin Firth and Taron Egerton.

Matthew Vaughn is back in the director’s chair for the continuing adventures of a wayward tough (Egerton) from the wrong side of London who is taken in by a suave and sophisticated agent (Firth) and, a la Pygmalion, is turned into the best and brightest of operatives.

Egerton is back with the action said to move from London to the States. Firth is not due to come back at this stage (his character died in the first movie and there was initial talk of finding ways to return the actor to the roll call, whether via flashback or even a twin brother, but those ideas were discarded, according to sources).

KINGSMAN 2 is Going International, Will Have Villain to Rival Samuel L. Jackson

MJ2JkTj.jpg

20th Century Fox has slated the Kingsman sequel for release on June 16, 2017. Vaughn is returning to direct and Taron Egerton will reprise his role as Eggsy. Collider asked Egerton for a status update on Kingsman 2, which will be rolling cameras later this year:

“With Kingsman, we’re shooting in the summer at present. There’s a script, it’s brilliant. Obviously there’s only so much I can say but what I can say is that we shot [the first] one all in the U.K., that won’t be the case with the next one. It’s a far more international story, we’re going to some incredible places, and we have a villain to rival Samuel L. Jackson—this new one is so brilliantly written I wish I could play it. It’s amazing.”

Speaking with CineWorld, Kingsman comic book creator Mark Millar also provided an update on the sequel:

"Matthew [Vaughn] and Jane [Goldman] finished the screenplay before Christmas and the plan is for the movie to be shooting in the spring. I only wrote one book so this is a new, original stories, but the nice thing is Dave Gibbons [artist on the original comic book] and I still co-own the rights so we both get paid the same money regardless. It’s beautiful. The capitalist dream!"

Taron Egerton to Shoot KINGSMAN 2 First, Then ROBIN HOOD

mVY4bPg.jpg

Taron Egerton’s 2016 has gotten clearer. The rising star, who broke through with the Matthew Vaughn-directed comic book adaptation Kingsman: The Secret Service, had been caught between the dueling schedules of Liongate’s Robin Hood reboot and Kingsman 2.

The latter had been distributed by Fox but was produced and financed by Vaughn and his MARV Films banner. MARV, which had first dibs on the actor, had planted its flag for an April shoot while Lionsgate was aiming for a February start.

The situation didn’t look rosy last week, when Vaughn exercised his option on the actor, meaning that Kingsman 2 was going ahead no matter what, throwing Robin Hood: Origins temporarily into a loop. Would it wait for Egerton or recast?

But now that the dust has settled, THR has learned that Robin Hood will shoot, with Egerton, after Kingsman 2 wraps, likely at the end of summer 2016. The moves have opened up Egerton’s winter slot but it may not lie vacant for long. Sources tell THR that the actor is attached to star in Crooks County, an indie crime drama package that is hitting the town.

KINGSMAN 2 to Shoot in April Which Creates Problem for Taron Egerton's Schedule

d1x9Uj8.jpg

Taron Egerton is learning that being a rising star can be complicated. The 25-year-old English actor broke big this year with Kingsman: The Secret Service, director Matthew Vaughn's surprise action hit that grossed $412.1 million worldwide. 20th Century Fox, which has a sequel option on Egerton, now wants another installment and is planning a shoot starting in April despite not yet having a script.

However, after Kingsman made him an in-demand actor, Egerton nabbed the plum lead in Robin Hood: Origins, Lionsgate's take on the medieval archer being produced by Leonardo DiCaprio's Appian Way. That movie is looking to begin shooting in February, and its scope and length would create a conflict with Kingsman 2. At this stage, Fox isn't budging. Its option on Egerton puts it in first position, meaning Kingsman 2 could trump Hood. However, Lionsgate is further ahead in preproduction and is making offers to actors to play Hood's Merry Men.

Usually a hot actor's reps (in this case, CAA) can navigate scheduling spats, but in this unusual instance it will be up to the studios. (A similar tug-of-war erupted between Fox and Lionsgate over Jennifer Lawrence's obligations to X-Men and The Hunger Games, respectively.) Insiders believe things will be worked out, which would be good news for Egerton, who soon could be the star of two studio franchises.

Sequel to KINGSMAN: THE SECRET SERVICE in the Works

ErQglhx.jpg

A sequel to the surprise blockbuster Kingsman: The Secret Service is in the works at Fox. There was no announcement by the studio or a timetable, but there will be a followup to the R-rated comic book adaptation directed by Matthew Vaughn and starring Colin Firth, individuals with knowledge of the project told TheWrap.

It makes sense. The London-set Kingsman: The Secret Service crossed the $400 million mark at the global box office this weekend. It generated most of that - about $275 million - from abroad. It became clear Fox had a hit on its hands when it opened to $41 million against Fifty Shades of Grey over the Presidents Day holiday weekend in the U.S.

Samuel Jackson, Michael Caine and Taron Egerton co-starred in Kingsman, which had an $80 million production budget. Vaughn also co-wrote with Jane Goldman and produced the film, which was based on the comic book The Secret Service created by Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons.

Vaughn is in line to direct Flash Gordon, a Fox reboot of the 1930s comic book series that led to a series of Buster Crabbe serials and a 1980 movie. Vaughn is also working on a film for Fox about Eddie "The Eagle" Edwards, who became the U.K.'s first Olympic ski jumper in 1988. And Vaughn is developing another adaptation of a comic book for Fox, The Golden Age, about superheroes in a retirement home.

If Vaughn isnt directing I dont think ill be that interested. He works with the same people every film and is just an awesome director all around and the score/soundtrack always flows perfect

Just saw this; film was badass. The Brits have such style, they know how to wear a suit like a gov'nor. Only downer was SLJ's weak ass lisp. Other than that, movie was top notch entertainment. I'm glad Vaughn got off X-Men to do this. Respect, bruv.

Just finished this movie. Loved it. Probably my favorite film since Guardians of the Galaxy. I wasn't a huge fan of the overall church scene, but thought this movie flowed nicely and I'd definitely be interested in seeing a sequel.

Kingsman 8/10

Wasn't sure i would like this but it wss a fun over tthe top action movie. Some really great killing scenes. definitely worth a watch. Best action movie ive seen in awhile

Just saw this. Definitely enjoyed it. It started out fairly normal but by the end things had gone batshit crazy! But all in good fun. It was definitely funny, and quite the spoof on James Bond. I'll gladly welcome a sequel.

Matthew Vaughn Is Writing and May Direct KINGSMAN Sequel

15ybqc7.jpg

One of the best films of 2015 thus far was most certainly Kingsman: The Secret Service. This riff on James Bond and the spy genre in general was a bloody good time in every sense of the word, and also introduced a rising new talent in star Taron Egerton. Despite not being a recognized IP or having any bankable stars to speak of, it had extremely strong legs at the box office and went on to gross over $400 million at the worldwide box office.

Last April, it was learned that Fox was officially developing a Kingsman sequel. Now Vaughn has revealed via Yahoo! UK that's he's in the midst of writing the follow-up himself: "The good news is I'm writing it next door at the moment, and if I think I can get the script good enough, then we'll make it. Stay tuned, but we're doing our damndest to make that happen."

An interesting fact is that Vaughn has never directed a sequel to his own films before. "I'm in love with these characters and I want to work with them again so I'll probably be breaking the rule of me tending not to make sequels," Vaughn admits.

Matthew Vaughn Confirms He's Writing Kingsman Sequel and May Direct It Himself

9/10 Wanted to see it in theater but didn't get a chance so I got it on indemand last night. Awesome flick with the church scene being one of the best movies scenes I have witnessed in a long time. This is a fun, fun movie.
