I'm no doctor, so I can't confirm. But if that's true, jeez that had to be rough.

    Edit:

"I think it's right. Because, I've only been in UFC (for) three fights. I didn't show who I am. People still talk like he beat some guys, something like that. That makes me (feel) inside like, 'now I have to show these people who I am'. I want to smash everybody to make a statement and show these guys who is the best in the world."

Manager explains surgery in Chechnya, says Chimaev ‘removed a cyst’
Lastly, many people have been asking about the surgery Chimaev recently went through in Chechnya. The operation has been brought up in two separate interviews with ESPN and MMA Junkie, but Chimaev was unable to explain the details in English.

“It was something inside here, Chimaev told MMA Junkie while pointing at his throat. “I don’t know how to explain it in English brother. Maybe my manager can translate this shit. I’m going to speak to him in Swedish, like, he’s going to translate it to English.

Frontkick asked Chimaev’s manager Majdi Shammas about the surgery, who simply explained the medical procedure.

“They removed a cyst,” Shammas told Frontkick.

"When I was in Sweden, It started to feel better... One week better, one week bad. I was still training when I was feeling bad also. This was too crazy. The coach said (to) me like, 'No. We can't do this until next year... most important is your health.' Then I stopped training and came to the USA. The doctors helped me there also. When I came back to my country, I did an operation here (points to the throat) and took out some stuff."

Incredible that a young beast like him struggled so badly with Covid yet my 66 year old aunt shook it off within a week. You never know how your body will respond. Crazy.

At least his coach has him disciplined and keeping tabs on when to work when to rest.

most guys trains 3 a days for 5 years and especially being super sick. He’s got a wonderful coach who can pull the reigns back. And control his gym.

Hope he comes back healthy and delivers on the hype. Though in order for him to do that he'd have to be literally Goku.

Intense training can lower your immune system and thar might have been the reason he got it severely to start with, but him starting to train when he should have been healing up only made it so much worse. It's not really ctazy when you consider that and I am assuming your aunt doesn't train like crazy.
