Imavov has trained with Khamzat and they are both born in Russia. There's a very real possibility that he said no to the fight because of that.

I wouldn't be surprised. I don't want to say I think Imavov is an easy opponent for Khamzat or anything, but I think Khamzat wins that pretty comfortably.

Maybe both being from Russia has something to do with but sounds more like an excuse. Russian dudes fight each other all the time.

Caio might be a harder match up for khamzat than DDP was. Caio's grappling is very high level, and on the feet, he has a pretty big advantage.

Imavov deserves to fight Chimaev more than Borralho does. I think when push comes to shove Imavov will fight him, don't think he'll let past training or a friendship block his championship goals.
