Even Khabib's team were yelling at him frustrated that he was playing too much and not following the game plan. Yet people think due to Joe Rogan's biased commentary that Khabib really isn't very good. The truth is Khabib was playing around with Al, he mauled him the first two rounds and could've gotten a body lock takedown with forward pressure instead of a single leg to start the third and maul him for the entire fight. Khabib didn't want to do that though, he wanted to practice his striking and test himself for 25 minutes, or in his team's words "Khabib too much play, no listen"

Papa wasn't there so the beast ran a little looser.

Happens.

Iz what it iz.

Conor would KO him before Khabib can even think about a takedown.

His dad needs to be in his corner to keep him in check for his title defenses.

Either that or Javi needs to put the fear of God into him. You can see in the post fight interview that his team reemed his ass for that shit. His dad gave him an ear full too.

I don't expect to see K1 Khabib again any time soon.

"Where the fuck did that back kick come from"

His Dad was pissed too. Khabib was actin' Roy Jones Jr. Conor would have smoked him if he made it to the third (which is a big 'if').

He won't listen to Javier, I know 100% if his dad was in the corner he wouldn't dare go against the gameplan. Khabib can maul and smash everyone on the ground in the LW division, he just needs to stick to that rather than trying to prove to everyone that he's great all around, in my opinion. Hopefully the ass whooping his dad gives him when he gets back to Dagestan will teach him.

Conor almost lost to a low tier grappler Diaz with 11 losses. Nuthuggers probably think conor has an undefeated record. Lol

Conor is overrated. There is a reason why he is afraid to defend any title.

I really wish we could hear what Abdulmanap (and Javier) had to say about it.

How much does he have a choice tho? What to do if he is fighting GSP and keeps getting stuffed? Then what?! He was trying for takedowns but has no open cage game. He needs to bullrush you to the clinch. Same as Ronda.

100% man. Khabib gets caught up in the moment sometimes. His pops will knock some sense into him.

He wasn't constantly getting stuffed. He just wasn't trying to chain wrestle. He shot in once in the 3rd but it failed because both were sweaty. He tried twice in the 4th but once again did not try to chain. He wanted to stand against his corners better judgment.

Now if he fights GSP...well lets hope he can pull off a Serra.

It was a perfect opportunity for Khabib to stretch the fight to a 5 round decision so that he could experience that. I agree that experience in the actual octagon is very different than what is learned in the gym.

I believe Khabib when he says he could have won the fight earlier. He was experimenting in there. Nothing against Al, Al is a beast, but he wasn't prepared for five rounds against Khabib.

If his pops can’t do it, there are a few guys at 170 who can knock some sense into him.
Meh other than Maia, Usman, and Woodley I think Khabib cleans house at 170. Woodley is the only one I think he has no chance against.

As a ‘neutral’ (I neither particularly like or dislike Khabib) it made for a more interesting fight.

I was so pissed during rounds 3 and 4 when Khabib literally was doing the Ali shuffle and trying to jab, stick, and move. What the heck lol.

I knew idiots would take that and make all sorts of stupid assumptions post fight.

Now we have to wait 7 months until he can beat someone else before all the dumb threads go away.
