Media Khabib's own words about ducking 170 and Usman

Hearing from AKA gym for years that he is outwrestling middleweighs and light heavyweights. What's the big deal matching him up with Usman? Get your dicks out of his ass. If he beat Usman he would SEAL the p4p nr.1 status legacy. GSP is 40 and has not fought for years.

Lol at saying conor went up and lost to khabib ignoring eddie. No mention of cejudo either. DC won a title
I mentioned Cejudo. Slow down and read next time. You're in such a rush to be defensive that you aren't even comprehending life.

Dumb topic. I doubt TS even believes it. I'm out.

Time-stamped

"not big like I am at 155" basically admitting he has size advantage at 155 and doesn't want to give it up fighting guys his own size at 170. Not GOAT talk imo. Cejudo, GSP, Silva, Fedor, Jones, Conor all either bumped up or fought where they cut no weight. While khabib was hospitalized over cutting. This needs to be factored in with GOAT talk.

He also says he can only be considered p4p #1 if he beats Dustin, Tony and GSP. Guess that went out the window with retirement.

He just recently got shredded at 155 lbs. maybe against Conor was the first time he looked jacked. Have you seen him against Gleison Tibau??? It looks like a scrawny kid vs a bodybuilder(Tibau)

That doesn't mean anything. What was barboza cage weight vs khabib? He's fighting at 145 now. Rehydration is a personal preference. Some guys feel slow or bloated if they rehydrate too much. Khabib is not smaller than Diaz, pettis, rda, madvidal. This is fact.

LOL did you just claim that actual cage weight figures don't mean anything? What the hell are you even arguing anymore? That Khabib was going *into the cage* significantly more dehydrated than his opponents?!? Come on, bro.

FACT: Weighing in the 170s in-cage like Khabib did in his title fights is average for a Lightweight, and small in Welterweight. All of your other non-sequitors are just nonsense.

Pettis, RDA, and Nate are small for Welterweight, too, and did far worse there against genuine Welterweights. Masvidal has put on a lot of mass since his LW days, and would have to lose muscle to ever have a hope of making LW again.

I know it hurts TS, but your beloved D1-Wrestler got put to sleep, and Conor tapped from a Neck Crank. As much as it sucks, you'll have to live with that fact.

Khabib looks big at LW, but not so big that he's ducking his natural weight IMO. He doesn't look massive compared to the other guys, he's just way ahead of them in grappling technique. Plus I think his weight misses stopped being an issue once he hired a nutritionist.

Colby, masvidal, Pettis, Diaz, RDA , Thompson are no bigger than khabib. Thompson said Alvarez was bigger than him when they trained together leading up to the Conor fight

The only fight that makes sense for Khabib at 170 is Usman, who is much much bigger.

Why would Khabib move up to 170 to fight former LW's like RDA, Pettis, Diaz or Masdival.

The point is not to fight them the point is they moved up and were not scared about it. Khabib beat nothing but former fw until Justin btw

No, each guy rehydrates differently to where they are comfortable. Barboza rehydrates higher than khabib but still made 145, so saying khabib rehydrates less means hes smaller is meaningless. Barboza made 145 no problem. Khabib gets hospitalized and had seizures making 155. Yet barbaoza had higher rehydration weight . Meaningless

Khabib is normal 155er. WWs are really big, even the strikers would give Khabib trouble. Khabib doesnt have a lot of frame and hips to fill out into.

This is nonsense. For fights, athletes replenish their fluids to their natural level and function, especially after being dehydrated for so long. Your fantasy that Khabib keeps from replenishing multiple pounds of natural water weight when actually fighting is the most absurd thing I've seen claimed on a message board in awhile. You're off the deep end, mate.

Barboza made 145 by losing muscle mass and possibly choosing to cut more weight, not because he chose to rehydrate less during an actual fight (fucking lol).

Bro, that was like 10 years ago and Tibau was roided into the heavens. Khabib has never used steroids.

He knew his fighting style does not work with bigger guys. For GOAT talks, he needed to go up and challenge himself, but he preferred to stay in his confort zone.

He is the LW GOAT definitively.

Imagine being this bitter that your favourite fighter didn't get a rematch...a rematch he would've lost

In other news 99% of D1 wrestlers In ufc have been ducking upper weight champions due to size disparity and the BMF Title (since Jorge baptized the best D1 wrestler in ufc history).

Give it a break even the best mma wrestler post GSP and not named Khabib: Jon Friggin Jones avoided the Heavy weight guys forever even resorting to PEDs to make 205 and avoid bigger yet less talented men.

Usman is a huge WW, he would dwarf Khabib. Not only is he taller with a longer reach but more importantly, he weighs significantly more than Khabib even while at a lower body fat percent. His true size is definitely noticeable over Khabib. Usman is not only huge for WW but he's an excellent wrestler who hits hard. The idea that guys need to prove themselves against an obviously bigger guy is stupid. Khabib, in the cage vs Conor & Justin & Dustin & Al & Edson, is about the same size. Khabib, in the cage vs Usman is a size mismatch. Walk around weight means nothing (eg GSP is in shape yr round, vs some guys who walk around at a heavy weight but are not in optimal shape).

Every fighter who has to "make weight" is chicken shitting (with exception of heavyweight fatties).
That is just how it is and always will be.

UFC can do one of two things. Go back to the old days of under or over 200lbs for the only 2 weightclasses, or introduce many more so there are more finite cuts and better suited middle ground classes for those who fall between.

I'd be shocked if more weight classes aren''t introduced within the next 5 years, as more people take part and MMA will be well in to its 30th year.

fighter cuts weight and wins -- "he cuts so much he clearly has an advantage. he should move up" (conor / khabib / holloway)

fighter cuts weight and loses -- "he cut too hard and it made him gas early / easier to get KO'd. he should move up " (dillashaw, Darren till)

frankie edgar gets tossed around at 155 -- "he needs to go down a weight class"

Usman decisions Khabib. At this point in time the only lower weight champ I see moving Up a weight class and beating the champ is maybe Izzy against Jan.
