Firstly: why do we all assume that Khabib will have a shitty weight cut?
Did you not see him working with a legit nutritionist in his fight (with Barboza) and he was shredded and in great shape and didn't look at all drawn out.
Secondly: why do we all assume he will gas out?
Khabib puts on a high pace, sure. But we have never seen Khabib gas (save for some of his earlier fights, maybe). But this is 2018, he made Barboza lose 10-8 for all three rounds and looked like he could do the same for 5 more rounds on that night. I understand that Ferguson puts on a high paced fight too, and will be a much tougher test on the ground than Barboza was.
I just don't understand why you all think he will have a bad weight cut (if anything, his weight cut will be fine if he is still with the same guy at UFC 219) and will gas (albeit, it was a 3 rounder, but he never looked close to being tired after beating Barboza up (10-8 x3). Even at UFC 205 in 2016, when he was huge and probably cut a lot of weight, he never looked tired and still beat on Johnson.
This isn't a thread on why I think Khabib will win; this is about why I think Khabib's cardio and weight cut will be just fine. Ferguson could very well submit or finish a tired Khabib in round 4, or 5. But nothing we have seen from Khabib suggests that he will tire like Kevin Lee did.
Like I said, I understand that Ferguson is a cardio machine, but nothing is there to suggest that Khabib isn't, either.
