Khabib vs Tony is a very predictable fight actually

Tony Ferguson, the type of guy to defend a takedown with elbows from the bottom.

Well that exactly. I wouldn't call Khabib's TD unstoppable. I think his best chance against El cucuy is to get sticky Askren style.

I think they are "unstoppable" in the way that nobody apart from Tibau has managed to stuff Khabib's TD's for a whole fight. You might stuff 1, 2, 3 or 4 TD but that's it. And Tony is not Ben Askren, he hasn't proven to had great take down defence. I think Tony will want to follow KN on the ground.

Ferguson is the most likely guy to beat Khabib on the planet at 155lbs, but the closer it gets to the fight the more I lean towards the champion.

Tony will be taken donw on the first, second and maybe third
Khabib will not be able to finish Tony or inflict real damage
Khabib will get tired
Tony will win round 3 and maybe finish Khabib on round 4.

Ferguson by TKO round 4 or 5
And Khabib might he subbed in those take down attempts @asdf122345

I feel like if Tony can submit the likes of Kevin Lee and Barbosa (someone not even Khabib finished) he’s got a chance to pull something.
He's subbed several guys Khabib hasn't been able to, Tibau and Trujillo for example but Khabib doesn't take chances. He's the Mayweather of MMA.

If Poirier can seriously threaten Khabib with a submission I’m sure Tony can do that and more. I’m not exactly betting on Tony, but I’m not counting him out.
okay let me tell y'all what will happen this year:
1. Tony submits Fathead because knockouts are boring at this point and that's the reason he will not finish him with hits alone
2. Tony beats McGrappler and ends the current era of undue hype train system in the UFC, crescendoes his career, opens the world's eyes on who is the true best martial artist. But who cares. If you get it - you get it, and if you will av needed until 2020 to realize that, you suck and should stick to soccer.

Absolutely nothing in the world is predictable when a certain Tony Ferguson is involved

I can't wait for this fight, 50% of this forum will choke on crows lol. Will I too ? Maybe but if not, this site will be the most glorious place on earth and I will be happy to watch the world of MMA implode because whoever wins that night, will break sherdog.

That’s not a minority opinion TS. Don’t most ppl (including the odds makers) see it similarly?

More like if Khabib can be in a deep submission against a black belt and escape, it's going to be hard for anyone to submit him.
Well, yeah. It’s going to be difficult to beat him any which way you look at it, and again, I’m not betting on Tony to pull it off. What I’m saying is if Dustin had a genuine shot at submitting him, Tony has a better chance at that.

If Poirier can seriously threaten Khabib with a submission I’m sure Tony can do that and more. I’m not exactly betting on Tony, but I’m not counting him out.

I think that plays in perfectly to this fight. Khabib now knows he can be caught. I think he takes the more slow, boring approach and just lays and prays. (That's an oversimplification)

Khabib will ragdoll Tony with ease,it wont even be competitive. Then all these islamophobic Khabib haters will earn hespect towards Khabib.

Tony by technical submission. He will literally break Khabib's limbs.

Yes everything can happen in this sport and this is one of the reasons of why we like it so much.
But let's be clear, for a super fight this one is very easy to predict with pure basic rationale.

1. Tony inflict damage via accumulation.
2. Tony does not have one punch KO power
3. Tony doesn't have a great TDD
4. Khabib receives minimal damage he's an outlier in this regard actually.
5. Khabib appears to have a very good chin
6. Khabib has almost unstoppable takedowns

Basically the only interesting thing about this fight are the unknown aspects which are reallly not that of a big deal.

1. How Tony guard would do against Khabibs top game. For sure he will be more active than most but to the extent to get a hold for a submission? Nah I don't see this happening. Moreover, Tony does get submissions when their opponents are damage and/or exhausted. He's not that of a grappling genius as people like to believe.

2. The cardio aspect. I do believe Tony has better cardio but Khabibs cardio is not bad. The way to tired Khabib is actually I believe by defending takedowns. That won't happen against Tony. An interesting standpoint would be that Khabib gets exhausted after two or three rounds of ground and pound and since Tony is a beast he might be able to endure that and keep coming after that.

Khabib via dec or TKO (doctor stoppage)
Tony doesn't have bad TDD. This is one of the biggest myths on Sherdog regarding Tony Ferguson. Tony has better TDD than most of Khabib''s opponents.

"Khabib appears to have a very good chin" - based on what? the 3 or 4 strikes in his career than have maybe landed on his chin?

1. Tony inflict damage via accumulation. - Yes and the damage will accumulate on Khabib over 25 minutes. Lets see how he handles a guy going after him for 25 minutes... something he has never dealt with in his entire career. Lets see how he handles someone constantly striking from the bottom, something he's never had to do either.

I say Tony finishes the guillotine choke that Dustin couldn't and takes Khabib neck home with him that night

Khabib lose via cut Rd4, sherdog crash for 6 hour

Everybody's like "Tony can't stop the takedown".

My friends, Tony doesn't need to stop the takedown.
