Chandler just destroyed NCAA division 2 wrestler Brandon Girtz with an arm triangle after ragdolling him in less than a round.

Thoughts?

Not on the same league in my opinion and I Like Chandler and hate Khabib but its the truth

Gritz was hitting Chandler with some good shots before he got ragged and finish in almost one seamless motion...but I agree that Chandler has a great chance against Khabib. For sure he's got the better striking and K.O power.

Chandler loses to most of the LW top ten. A little too wild and bad defensively. I guess he would be a pretty tough matchup for Khabib though, since he has big power and he's extremely hard to take down. But the way he explodes into his punches could get him body locked and taken down. He'd be hard to hold down but I have to think Khabib has the superior overall grappling game.

Khabib would fucking smash him, I admit he isn't a great match up, but Khabib is special.. Chandler is just really good.

He honestly looked pretty bad. Was getting hit with the bigger shots from Girtz. He HAD to wrestle there because he was getting lit up, at least more than expected. He dominated once he got a hold of Girtz though.

Girtz isn't a good fighter. He lost 3 of his last 4 coming into the fight, and not to elite competition, either. I like Chandler, but his last 2 opponents aren't even Top 20. And he lost twice to Will "I flunked out in the UFC" Brooks.

I think that’s a hard matchup for Khabib but I would still favor him.
Chandler seems a bit inconsistent and has shown to be beatable unlike Khabib thus far. Chandler has the power and wrestling to make things interesting though. If Khabib can’t take him down or control Chandler can he outwork him on the feet?

Would love to see Chandler in the UFC. He is for sure a top lightweight.

You're fuckin nuts man... There's no way in hell Chandler loses all those fights, I think he easily out wrestlers, Barboza and diaz and most likely out grapples Poirier and Chiesa, we all know he's hit or miss with Alvarez and I think he matches up great with Kevin Lee. The guy is a powerhouse wrestler with heavy hands and an amazing chin when it came down to it tonight he was twice the athlete Girtz was.

It's a shame he's not in the UFC, I think he'd be a solid top ten, if not top five. Hell, he had freaking WARS with Alvarez, and Eddie was champ. He's also, imo, the guy with the best skill set to upset khabib.

Chandler fell in love with his brawling style, but if he goes back to his roots he could probably beat Khabib without even throwing a punch.

Khabib gets grinding takedowns against the fence, this does not translate to TDD, as we saw when Tibau decided to launch his ass across the cage with a double leg.

I think people would be shocked if a high level wrestler took it to Khabib offensively. That is likely why Kevin Lee feels so confident about that matchup and has been salivating to fight Khabib for years.

Girtz was getting in that ass before the slam. Chandler did not look good in there. He looked old and slow.

He’s a solid fighter and Iike the guy but he looked confused out there tonight.

Khabib wins by chandlers corner stool KO

I should have said it more like this...he's 50/50 with a lot of the UFC LW top 10. He could starch them or he could get beaten. His wrestling and his power will always make him dangerous, but the way he throws his strikes he's always leaping in and out, that can get you knocked out by an experienced striker because there will be a lot of collisions. He also moves in and out on predictable straight lines, and doesn't take angles when striking. I think Barboza chews him up with low kicks, Tony wears him down with front kicks and jabs and eventually chokes him when he goes for a TD. Khabib does his thing. Kevin Lee would be a tight matchup could go either way.

After looking at the LW top 10 though and thinking about it a little more, I think I may have overstated his flaws somewhat, as his skills are pretty potent. I just think he's defensively pretty bad, but offensively he's EXTREMELY potent.

Hard to say. Chandler under USADA testing would be a much different fighter.

And he lost twice to UFC reject Will Brooks. I'd like to see Chandler in the UFC, but he doesn't bring anything vs. Khabib that Kevin Lee (and maybe Gregor Gillespie) don't already have.

The second fight should have been a draw or a win for him. Horrible judging.
