They are very evenly matched on paper. Askren is heavier but that just goes to show how much weight Khabib is losing since they are same height. Which is why Khabib body is shutting down almost every weight cut.

I'm genuinely interested to see what Askren brings to the table, but as of now, I feel Khabib is the superior grappler overall.

Ben is a can crusher. He'll be exposed in the UFC. At 155, I'd say Khabib 10 out of 10, at 170, Khabib probably 8 out of 10. Ben will fizzle out and be a top 10 gate keeper but never a legit threat.

Askren wins the wrestling. Khabib wins the standup. The question is by how much? I don't think Askren will be able to land a hundred strikes a round even if he is winning the control battle on the ground. He can do his chain wrestling stuff but he will be getting clipped the whole time by Khabib. Khabib, by decision.

I think khabib takes it honestly. I like both but khabib has far better striking (which if i had said be4 the conor fight people would be saying how bad his standup is and how im stupid or worse.. etc) not only standing but gnp as well. Askren is almost as good as khabib at top control or maybe even equal but its really hard to tell until we see Ben fight some top guys. He does fight heavier guys where he is smaller fighter at times, but his gnp is not even close. Based soley on his previous opponents Khabib has faced far better competition and been very impressive against them. I like both fighters and think they are both dominating ground fighters, but Khabib just has more ways to win. I am looking forward to seeing Ben come in 170 and start taking guys out. His style to me isnt as dominating as Khabibs, maybe more smothering, but his strikes are pretty weak in comparison to a fighter who is in a 15 lb lighter class.
