Nah. I don't think Jones had lot a round until the Gus fight, which was already more title defenses than Khabib will retire with. Jones' resume easily wins. Jones also had to be well rounded rather than just exploiting a lightweight division rife with guys that like to strike.

Bones lost the 3rd round to Bonner and was outboxed (lol)

lost the 1st round to Hashad as well. And I think Lyoto too

I don't remember Jones losing round 3 of the Bonner fight, but that was a long ass time ago. You could definitely argue he lost round 1 vs Machida, but I thought that was severely overstated just because when people see an unbeatable guy look human they always exaggerate. That round was close.

Can someone explain to me why a retired fighter is #1 P4P and still in the rankings? lol
Shouldn't he be removed? Not saying he doesn't deserve #1 P4P currently necessarily, but he's retired and therefore needs to be removed from all rankings.

Based on resume and title defenses and overall record its Jones. He faught the tougher competition, has the longjevity and no losses. In terms of dominance its Khabib. The only time people had doubt whether he had won the fight was against Tibau, the only time he was in real trouble was when Johnson had him wobbled on his feet. That is 2 instances in 29 fights. Jones on the other hand has been in numerous controversial decisions, has looked like he was involved in a car wreck after a few of his fights. Has had way more lackluster decisions as well.

If you can reconcile the two id say Jones is the GOAT and Khabib is the most dominant MMA fighter in history

Why did they put a retired fighter as #1 P4P?

At this moment in time Khabib is number 1 pound for pound , but overall , legacy wise Jones is the more acomplished MMA fighter....

Jones destruction of the LHW division is astonishing . In order to come to this conclussion it would require you watched both fighters every fight , until the present moment.

Has he left the testing pool? If not, he isn’t retired. Conor fans taught me that.

Has to be a majority for it to count as an official loss so either 2 or 3 judges mustve had it. He didnt lose a round to Gusmao

But he did lose the 3rd VS Bonner

    Gotcha

Still it does proof jones was NEVER near as dominant as Khabib.

All the rounds Khabib won he won on all 3 judges scorecard.

He didn't need this technicality of atleast winning on 2 judges scorecard :D

    Khabib Bless

Over the last 2 or 3 fights Khabib is better p4p than Jones. The UFC P4p is more what have you done lately VS a GOAT ranking which is an overall body of work.

Been awhile but from what I remember Jones did nothing while Machida did nothing with the exception of a flurry which nailed Jones. Definitely a Lyoto round from what I remember. Not that it ultimately mattered of course but yeah.
