News Khabib responds to Danas claims Conor is next

I love khabb's stance towards Conor. But, what if the money is really good? Which it will be.

I'm not saying i want that fight or Khabib should take it, but if conor gets another win like his previous one and UFC hyping it up, that becomes another insane money fight. This time khabib would get an even bigger share.

We might be talking 30+ million for a winnable fight, why would anyone turn that down?

These kinds of opportunities don't come often. Its most likely happening.

The Russian market watches on the basic Rostelecom TV package, so its not like they are pulling shit loads of money in from Russia. It's not some cash cow, else they would have cards there more often. The middle eastern market also get's the ufc as part of cable package with OSN network. Again, not a giant cash cow. Both of these deals were a result of the increased interest in the regions, which khabib did play a giant role in.

Now khabib was very useful in creating interest in the UFC in these markets, but if Khabib were to leave its not like suddenly these new fans just pack up and leave. Khabib has already said he is retiring soon, so what would happen in four years when he leaves? Does the UFC suddenly lose access to these new markets?

Of course not. Other fighters come in and others leave. The interest may wane at times but that happens even in the United States. Khabib's value as a marketing asset was huge, but lets not pretend like he is a cash cow like conor. His role was to garner interest in these regions and that role is accomplished. He is not untouchable.

This is a fairly reasonably assessment of the situation.

Endeavor famously postponed their IPO in fear of stumbling out of the gate. If you go back and review the two most recent UFC credit rating reports, Moody's specifically notes the importance of reoccurring rights fees for stability. The PPV model is volatile and has enormous peaks and valleys, where rights deals bring guaranteed steady revenue.

Look at the nutty debt load the UFC and now Endeavor itself has on the books. They need to continue negotiating and expanding rights deals here and abroad.

Khabib most definitely played an important role in opening up better rights deals, and for the UFC, they hope those are a bridge to a bridge. Something to build upon, as you say, after Khabib and beyond.

Mistreating Khabib is counter-intuitive to developing interest (read: further and improved) rights deals in the parts of the globe where Khabib is impactful. Even if its just perceived injustice. He has plenty of bargaining power right now.

When there is a lack of interest, they offer it for free in order to try attain new fans that will be potential buyers in the future when demand becomes high enough. Stripping a title from a Muslim guy that is clearly, by far the best in the division will not only cause the Russian and Middle Eastern markets to lose interest, but many people who still think UFC belts actually represent the best fighters will be proven wrong as well.

While Conor makes the UFC alot of money, he makes them money just as much money when he is fighting for non title fights. They can create a new BS belt like the "EBMF" belt. (Even Badder mother fucker) and the fight will sell just as much as a Mcgregor title fight. B/c the casuals that tune in to watch Mcregor do it mainly b/c of his personality. Thats why he can fight a guy coming off a KO loss and when he wins its a huge deal.

There are some clear negatives to stripping the best fighter in the world to hand it to Conor but no real monetary incentive to do so.

Revisionist history. Conor fanboys wouldn't shut up about "lineal champions" and how khabib wasn't the real champ because he beat al not conor. Please stop lying.
So you regarded Conor as the champ?

Kebab running away from Conor 2.0 like he is running away from WW lolllllll

Sure they would. They are actually doing it right now with Tony and Justin.

Tony is on a 12 fight win streak and beat Cowboy that was on a winning streak. Gaethje has 3 straight first round KO’s against top 10 opponents. And both them won their fights in the relevant weight class. Conor already lost to the champion and is 1-1 in the weight class with 1 win in 3 years. Not the same at all. You’re being disingenuous to compare them, context matters.

If the UFC wasn’t an utter fucking shambles then they would make Conor beat some legit completion. But it is a fucking shambles. A shower of shite circus.

So Conor will get smeshed in his next bout and we can forget about it til he beats frankie Edgar to ‘earn’ the next shit

"He must not beat second rate fighters like Cowboy, he must beat the truly elite like Horcher and Iaquinta for title belt like I did."

Cowboy VERY recently beat the dogshit out of the man Khabib beat to win the belt.

He didnt have to fight tony at all then. He could have just ditched it for the Conor fight. Conor fuckin went to russia and still didnt get it
Wait and see. They will fight again. The tony fight has been overdue and they booked it before Connor returned. Plus Connor need to build up the hype and revenue generation again. If Connor seriously was interested in fighting Khabib the rematch would have been booked! Even if Khabib didn’t want to ufc would have made it or stripped Khabib. The balls in connors court as always

Hes right. Conor doesn't even deserve to fight on the undecard of a Khabib fight

Conor always wanting rematches but wouldn't even give Aldo his. Serves him right if Khabib doesn't accept it.

And he is right. Beating Cowboy at 170 and you get a title shot at both LW and WW? Fuck off with that WWE nonsense.

<31>

I'd like to see Khabib take a fight at welterweight instead of cutting from over 200lbs to fight smaller men. Conor called Khabib a rat and tbh he was right

Conor having to win 10 in a row like he’s some up and coming prospect? That makes no sense

Waiting for the people who are going to claim he’s ducking Conor. He just wants Conor to earn a rematch, like anyone else would have to.

and Conor having to win 10 in a row to earn it is justified? Maybe if Conor was 7 years younger and fresh out of cage warriors then I could see khabib argument
