It's just that the purpose of what he's being paid to do is to humiliate himself for the enjoyment of other people. And they're taking advantage of the fact that he's in a vulnerable situation. If I were homeless, I wouldn't people to treat me like that. Cleaning a bathroom is something that is necessary and serves a good purpose.

It is really sad that people cant understand this.

Respect to you. I once helped out at this house where they bused in homeless people for a meal and a Christian message. I had to clean the bathroom. It was pretty brutal, there were maybe 50 attendees with varying mental illnesses and levels of sobriety.

I couldn’t bring myself to go back, and I’m not proud of that.

I agree it's probably humiliating to the homless people to be made to do push ups and then have them laugh at you struggling to do 5. Just because you got money doesn't mean you should treat people like this. But we're talking about cage fighters here, so maybe you shouldn't have your expectations of them so high to the point that you're "really disappointed in him".

Cleaning toilets is work. Making a homeless person do push ups is just degrading. Just give him the money or offer him some work. Making people do degrading stuff with no purpose just because they're in a difficult situation and need the money is fucked up. It's not respectful. At least that's how I see it.

God knows these people needed help. And there was sanitary equipment so it was safe. But the sights and smells were stomach-turning.

Also be aware that in Jesus’ day when people walked around they had filthy feet. When he washed the disciples’ feet he was doing dirty, dirty work. And he didn’t have gloves. Pretty humble for a king.
