Khabib just outstruck the best striker in the division

khabib wrote the gameplan on how to wrestle for mma you have to get the fuck int here throw up top then drop down and nonstop pressure but you have to be in damn good shape and have a great camp to do this luckly hes at aka for this
 
Khabib definitely improved his striking game. He outpunched Edson.
 
Yeah so Michael Johnson beat the brakes off Barboza by pressuring him with straight up boxing.

Barboza is a lot of fun, and freaky explosive, but he's come up short against the truly elite, and his grappling is subpar at that level.

I mentioned in a post the other day, people gloss over his big two wins on this run were Pettis and Gilbert, who were both in career skids coming off two losses when they fought Edson.

The big question tonight wasn't if Khabib was going to out wrestle him, that should be clear to everyone. It was if Khabib could make the weight and show up healthy, so he could move on to more challenging fights.

Khabib was outstriking Edson before he even attempted a takedown, lmao. Edson's boxing sucks. It's not an opinion, it's a fact. He looks helpless moving backwards even with energy. Hell he actually did better in the later rounds when he could get some space and landed some big shots, so that whole myth is debunked.

I never said Edson was a can, I said he wasn't the best striker in the division because he's not. Great boxing is a 1000x more important in MMA than great kicks and flying knees that are much more easily countered.

Edson's striking wasn't on point because he had to move backwards while doing so (which is not easy at all) and because he worried so much about Khabibs takedowns.

He outstruck Khabib until the first TD landed.
 
Still Edson doesn't sit people on their asses with single super accurate punches like Conor and his left always does...Anyway, would really love to see Khabib/Conor more than Tferg
 
Good wrestling with alright striking and strong chin will do that to strikers not known for their punching power.

Khabib will show more respect for Conor's hands.
