(( KHABIB IS THE #1 LB-4-LB FIGHTER ))

lol Khabib's legacy is around BJ Penn's at the moment... lets not bring in real GOATS like Jones, GSP, Silva, etc okay. He's getting there though.

Undefeated champs are one thing (technically Adesanya is in this group as well), but sixteen ufc championship wins vs. three is something else. Khabib's 28-0, but he amassed over half of his wins against cans outside of the UFC. Jon had a grand total of six fights before his debut. Khabib's going to have to be dominant for a very long time before he's the p4p goat. Wins over Ferguson, Gaethje, and possibly Mcgregor 2 will make him the unquestioned LW goat.

The Khabib talk on this board is ridiculous. He was gifted his title winning against a fighter ranked outside the top 10 and has only TWO title defenses. The rest of his resume is mostly padded with unranked nobodies. There have been 3 other fighters in his own division with more impressive title runs. He is barely in the conversation as greatest lightweight of all time, let alone p4p GOAT talk.

If he retired today (or gets beat by TFerg), he will be forgotten in 2 years. Another 2+ title defenses and then we can talk about LW GOAT... another 5+ and maybe P4P GOAT.

Khabib is number 2 all time greatest lightweight. Just surpassed Eddie. Will surpass Penn after beating Ferguson.

Khabib Bless

Khabib has gotten more dominant as USADA entered the picture, whereas Jones has gotten much worse despite facing the softest opposition of his career.

Khabib > Jones

Khabib has less championship wins because UFC kept him from a TS for the longest time possible.

He also has less rounds lost than Jones because he's much more dominant especially after the testosterone-playing field seems to have leveled.

Comprehension is critical to having a meaningful discussion.

The title of this post is not about legacy or GOAT ... proper reading technique should enable you to discern the subject of this thread is the current pound-4-pound best champion.

There is no more dominant champion in any division than Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Does anyone seriously think Jon Jones is the best pound-for-pound fighter anymore?

Although Jones may have won the fight, he barely eked by Reyes, and barely eked by Santos before that. Both debatable outcomes.

Khabib absolutely destroys his competition. It really isn't even a contest.

Jon Jones should drop significantly in the pound-for-pound rankings; he is no longer a dominant champion.

Khabib Nurmagomedov is the undisputed pound-for-pound king going forward. No one is more dominant in his division than Khabib.
Nah, plenty are. Cause, unlike khabib, other champs actually KO people. Usman, Stipe, Shevchenko, are all more dominant than Khabib.

Really?

My understanding is all of these individuals have lost rounds, lost fights, Stipe by KO.

You think that's more dominant than a man is never lost around her a fight?

We fundamentally can't agree on reality.

Jones has beaten all types of fighter for years and cleared out a division.

Khabib has beaten a string of good but one-dimensional strikers with dogshit tdd.

No way Khabib is better than Jones based on their resumes.

But weren't all the "legends" Jones beat smaller men ... at the end of their careers?

It's hard to give man credit for being pound for pound the best, when he is a foot taller than everybody he fights, most of whom are overweight and past their prime.

Jon has more championship wins than Khabib has UFC fights. We could talk about your ufc conspiracy theories if Khabib had ten title wins. He doesn’t though. He has three, and Jon has more than that in the past 14 months. Here’s a list of guys on the roster with the same or more number of title wins as Khabib.
-Cejudo
-Dillashaw
-Cruz
-Holloway
-Aldo
-Edgar
-Lawler
-Woodley
-Silva
-Weidman
-Jones
-Arlovski
-Cormier
-Miocic
You see, in the grand scheme of things, Khabib isn’t that special yet. Over half of wins have come against shitty nobodies, and he hasn’t even faced the two best fighters in the division besides himself. He has work to do before to just be remembered as the consensus lw goat. He retires tomorrow, and nobody outside of Dagestan remembers him in a couple of years. Jon retires tomorrow, and at the very least, he’s one of the top three goat candidates.

Lol @ "no one will remember him outside of Dagestan" - Khabib is already much more widely known than Jon. Anyway popularity aside it's an apples or oranges comparison because yeah Jon has more title wins but he isnt nearly as dominant as Khabib, especially in his latest several fights after the second (or was it third?) PEDGate. Once the testosterone playing field has been leveled Jon is winning some very close fights.

those title defences mean nothing.
He got caught with steroids and got suspended.
When he came back he was rewarded with an immediate titleshot two times.
he gets all decisions.
Khabib had to fight 10 fights to get a titleshot in a division that is by far more talented and with a reach disadvantage.

Funny people still try to argue. Khabib is number one. He runs through all his opponents.
the fraud Jones gets special treatment by the UFC.

Jon had one title fight where he got caught. It was reversed to a NC, and Cormier got his belt back. Not included in the win total I referenced. You want to say he was doping for all his fights? Fine. Throw out the pre-USADA record books, because there's no way of knowing who was or wasn't doing what. You'd probably be fine with throwing the record books out, given the fact that you've probably only been paying attention to the UFC since 229 or so. How do I know this? It's because you've just assumed that the current LHW division is the one Jones came into, and the current LW division is the one Khabob came into. Jones came into the deepest division in the UFC, and LW wasn't nearly as good as it is today when Khabob arrived. And idk what the point of mentioning Khabob's reach advantage is when he doesn't even strike when he fights. Who gives af?
