Does anyone seriously think Jon Jones is the best pound-for-pound fighter anymore?

Although Jones may have won the fight, he barely eked by Reyes, and barely eked by Santos before that. Both debatable outcomes.

Khabib absolutely destroys his competition. It really isn't even a contest.

Jon Jones should drop significantly in the pound-for-pound rankings; he is no longer a dominant champion.

Khabib Nurmagomedov is the undisputed pound-for-pound king going forward. No one is more dominant in his division than Khabib.

If Khabib dominates and finishes Tony I'd make the argument that he should be ahead of Jones on the rankings

Guys like GSP and Jones are great EVERYWHERE in the MMA game, not just grappling like Khabib. Therefore Khabib will never be put on their level, why is this so hard for people to understand?

Why is this even up for debate?

Jones and khabib are the only undefeated champs hence they qualify for goat status. But jones is a ped user who has scraped by his last few.

Why is it so hard for you to comprehend that absolute dominance = the main criteria?

If GSP is "more well-rounded," technically ... but yet still gets dropped, cut, taps out, and quits against certain fighters ... and yet Khabib may not be "as well-rounded" ... but he absolutely dominates TF out of everyone he faces, forcing them to fight his fight, winning every single round, never getting cut, never getting dropped, always is the one applying the relentless pressure ... how in TF can you call GSP "better?"

Roundness doesn't make you the pound for pound king, absolutely dominating everyone you face is what makes you the King.

Not now, the winner of tony vs khabib should be p4p no 1. If tony wins, he should be ahead of Jones in my opinion.

Undefeated champs are one thing (technically Adesanya is in this group as well), but sixteen ufc championship wins vs. three is something else. Khabib's 28-0, but he amassed over half of his wins against cans outside of the UFC. Jon had a grand total of six fights before his debut. Khabib's going to have to be dominant for a very long time before he's the p4p goat. Wins over Ferguson, Gaethje, and possibly Mcgregor 2 will make him the unquestioned LW goat.

When Khabib defends his title 10+ and remains champion for a decade, then yes, he is GOAT.

Because fighting is about what works.
A complete skill-set just happens to work more often.

That being said, Khabib has at the very least good fundamentals in the stand up.

Being undefeated is not a prerequisite for GOAT status
