I think Khabib is an incredible talent, but his hype is getting out of hand. He has only fought 4 times in the last four years. In that time he only has 1 submission victory and 1 win by KO/TKO, the rest were by decision. And yet I've seen a number of threads where he is being compared to the best fighters in MMA history.

Beating Edson Barboza, apparently, makes you a world beater??? In the last four years, Edson has fought 10 times, going 6-4.

Khabib's other recent big win is Michael Johnson, a solid fighter no doubt, but he has fought 8 times in the last 4 years, but only has 3 wins. He beat Dustin Poirier in 2016, Barboza in 2015, and Melvin Guilard in 2014. Johnson has only won once in the last 3 years.

And Khabib beat Rafeal Dos Anjos... 4 years ago. That is a great win, but it is still four years ago.

Jon Jones has only fought 4 times in the last four years, but they were all Title fights.

Dominick Cruz has fought 4 times, 3 in Championship fights, in the last four years...

How long has it been since Conor fought in the UFC??? Because in the last four years, he fought 8 times(3 in Title fights), going 7-1. He only has 1 fight that went to decision, the rest were win's by KO/TKO.

Belts don't mean shit, they're a promotional tool to sell PPVs. Conor has a 155 belt with one fight in the 155 division, GSP had the 185 belt in his first and only fight at Middleweight.. if you can draw money you'll basically be handed a belt without really earning or defending it. Getting a belt from undeserved, gifted title shots does not make a fighter more credible.

Khabib hasn't fought the best competition but you have to see how he has absolutely destroyed the people he has faced. He hasn't officially lost a single round in ufc. His hype is every bit justified and if he beats Fergusson, there will be no doubts about his greatness.

Also, him beating a green RDA is a complete and utter myth. He beat RDA on a pretty good win streak and RDA never stopped after that loss and was a beastly champion in less than a year of that loss. It is pure speculation that the RDA that Khabib fought wasn't as good. He beat one of the most vicious LW's like he was nothing.

If he wins and defends the LW belt - he's LW GOAT.

If he then moves up, wins and defends the WW belt - he's GOAT.

So it's a long road ahead of him if he wants to be truly considered GOAT. Right now, he "only" has the best MMA record in the world - but that's already impressive.
