His performance last night was astounding. He usually delivers - but this time it was clear that the man has been working and training to the fucking mac to sharpen and expand his style. On the ground he was always a beast - basically outclasses anyone that gets anywhere near the ground game with him. Both in being able to get somebody to the ground, and keeping them there in a dominant position delivering damage nonstop. That enough is so much to carry a mixed martial artist very far in the game - a la Chael Sonnen or Damien Maia.

BUT.

Last night Khabib showed even more. He showed that he has been seriously working on his striking and although he will not simply stand and trade for a round and comfortably exchange at a standard and technical pace - he still managed to out strike one of the best strikers in the division and one of the best kickers in all of mma. Not only did he do that , he did it flawlessly. He took a few kicks here and there in the start, that was literally about it. Barboza just could not handle Khabib's RELENTLESS pace moving forward and overwhelming him with constant attacks and backed up the entire fight in fear of both his aggressiveness and the very dangerous threat of the possibility of getting caught in Khabib's deadly grappling game.

Is this thus far in the sport that is mma possibly the PERFECT style to dominate?

He absolutely outclasses everybody on the ground , and now his aggressive striking style can simply leave an opponent too busy to even properly fight BACK. It's awesome to watch, and explains why the man is 25-0.

I've had my doubts about Khabib for sure, but last night he showed me that he is better that Tony and Conor.

His main Caveat is the consistency of him staying active.

He's an enigma of sorts for fans. We just don't know if he can string together a consistent run of fights.

But when he shows up, he is a really scary dude.

His last two fights he just put on one-sided beat-downs, while simultaneously carrying on a dialogue with people cage-side.

That's how in control he is in the cage.

He's got the perfect style until he gets clipped and loses. Admittedly he's a damn nightmare once he grabs you.

Same shiit different toilet with these hug grab n dry hump guys.

Once he gets clipped by a guy who can defend the td a little he’ll be a fish out of water standing

He ate some shots from Barboza last night that would have folded most fighters, and he just walked right through them without even hesitating.

He did look awesome last night, but he gets punched easily, Connor would ko him

This.

I was frustrated listening to his post 219 presser talking about how is gets injured because he "trains so hard". For fuck sake AKA...get some fucking professional trainers in there and quit breaking your fighters before they make it to the octagon.

Yeah he ate some good punches and a spinning heel kick without flinching but i hate when they eat shots because eventually the chin will fail him. Think about Chuck, iron chin never ever failed him... Then it did.

On the subject of him talking, he was responding to Edson's Conor advice at times. "Don't let him get to your back!" "Heh. Yeah they're right. You shouldn't let me do that".

Who else is crazy enough to talk like this to dangerous fighters mid fight?

I hate khabib. For not fighting, not making weight, his attitude, him never figthing. I legit thought barb would KO him easily. His striking was 10x better than the last time I seen it. He actually beat barb on the feet and took punches and kicks like it was NOTHING. I was beyond impressed with him. He has moved on to the level of elite and tony or Conor will be his next fight. I think he rapes Conor and I think Fergie vs him would be a FOTY. I mean he was throwing combos and nailing barb on the feet and ate the kicks like cupcakes and I fucking dispise the guy. I hope he fights more, He turned me into a fan with that performance.

That shit is seriously LOL-worthy.

I hate using the WAY over-used "Alpha" term, but it applies here.

Fighting top ten UFC competition and talking to both the fighters, their corners, AND Dana focking White while beating the living shit out of said competition has to apply.

I think the scariest thing about him is the amount of damage he inflicts in such short periods of time as soon as he gets guys down. It' relentless. For guys who aren't use to that type of pressure on the ground it's suffocating . Even if they survive the round the threat of being in that position again makes guys change their whole gameplan

yeah.

Before Khabib was a good fighter on a great streak.

He is now 100% ELITE.

that strategy only works for so long.
alot of fighters used to have great chins.

Khabib is legit. Don't let him get you down. The pounding you will take might shorten your career. Barboza head is still ringing.
