Khabib GOAT status compared to others.

So, people are into considering Khabib as one of the GOATS, in the LW and P4P.

He won the title againts Al Iaquinta and then defended it 3 times against top opponents.

Silva had 15 fight AFTER winning the belt. Not all of them were MWs and not all of them were P4P best, but he fought the best of the best at that time. He looked invincible, even more than Khabib does today.

The same goes for GSP. He did his reign in 13 fights I think.

Jones is another example. That guy is a freak.

Maybe last year and this year no one would beat Khabib and his current abilites have no match in the roster, but to retire now with only 3 defenses and to be considered GOAT is a littler bit too far stretched. People evolve, new fighters come up, they close the gap, they prepare their strategies and train for you more and more.

What do you think, can Khabib be mentioned as the GOAT with the mentioned fighters?

Usually that's how people get to the top, all of them are almost invincible while coming to the top. The harder thing is to stay there. He hasn't done that.

I don't disagree that Khabib didn't fight as many Top opponents, but he's still a better and more dominant fighter, with a more impressive skillset.

Silva and GSP took their licks and several losses. Silva also popped.

Adesanya is closing in on as many wins as Khabib in 2-3 years in the UFC compared to Khabib's like 8 or 9.

Dustin Poirier will have a better list of LW wins than Khabib when his career is over.

Very nice thinly veiled post to try and discredit khabibs achievements. Fact is he is undefeated. The level of competition before the ufc is irrelevant. When your starting out you fight who ever is available. The fact he remained undefeated when he was still learning the sport is impressive. You have folk like canor tapping out to complete nobodies when he first started out.

the zero defeat is actually not the crucial thing. YOu can lose and come back and prove even more that you can do that.

If JDS retired after the Fran Mir fight, he would've be considered the GOAT also?
