Media Khabib claims MMA promoters won’t sign Dagestan fighters, true or false?

Probably has something to do with it being a fight and not some gay porn crotch sniffing fest that those Dagees will turn it into.

Promoters too scared they will lose fans by having uncharismatic champions that are boring?

I mean, there's a weird agenda. Will they? Yes. To they hardly sign them and kinda intentionally avoid signing top talent from that region? Yes. You dumb fucks need gim to say this ro ask the question? Ive been telling you for years. They avoid Russian talent be it the Caucasus or not for the most part but sign tons of Latin American, US, UK, Brazilian etc cans. They have demographics they care about and ones they intentionally avoid. Poland doesnt get a lot of love either and Central Asia talent is avoided a lot as well. Boxing isnt a ton different.

Well, they don't sign the "I won't hide in Dagestan during PED tests", so they can't compete on the same level.
I think he was targeting non-WADA promotions KSW and Oktagon
Promotions that do PED tests have plenty of Dagestanis (UFC, PFL, French promotions)

Sounds good coming out of his mouth because there are many good fighters from that area of the planet. However, there are million other things that matter, even more so for smaller promotions. Location, ease of travel, ability to negotiate, language barriers, background checks, PEDs and testing, charisma, promotion, self-promotion, etc.

Then there is this from Wikipedia, which goes to a general philosophy concerning that region:

Conditions for economic development are favorable in Dagestan, but – as of 2006 – the republic's low starting level for a successful transition to market relations, in addition to rampant corruption, has made the region highly dependent on its underground economy and the subsidies coming from the central Russian government.[73][74] Corruption in Dagestan is more severe than in other regions of the former Soviet Union and is coupled with a flourishing black market and clan-based economic system.[75]

There's also the issue of Dagestani fighters having chronic issues getting visas to fight in North America and Western Europe. The UFC already accommodates its Dagestani (and Chechen) fighters by putting on multiple events per year in UAE and Saudi Arabia, which are less profitable for them than PPV cards in the US or Canada.

Unfortunately the strict regimine that creates these Dagestani fighters is also what makes them unmarketable.

Teach them English, at the very least.

I think the bigger ones will no problem. No clue about smaller ones.

ACA and ONE produced bunch of fighters from that region and Dana refused to even acknowledge them. He knew they would maul all the Americans in the UFC.

There's basically nationality quotas in the UFC lol, they are only looking for so many Russians, so many Brazillians in certain divisions etc. UFC probably has made it clear to managers that they've hit their max for a certain division, they aren't looking to let their bantamweight division for example become 80% Russian by accident lol.

I think this is true to some extent but if the Dags were producing flashy exciting sellable fighters they would load up on them way more.

I was joking. But are the Dagestani from UFC really tougher ? There are some in One FC but they haven't been so dominant. And the opposition to them in One FC isn't higher than in UFC, at least in the division he was fighting in, lightweight — except for one guy, Christian Lee. That is a fighter who I believe could beat Islam or get close to. He beat two Dagestani fighters in lightweight and welterweight ... But the ones from UFC might be the elite. Like, there is Khabib, Islam and Ankaalev. Those are elites. Outside of them, I don't think there's another Dagestani that is out of the ordinary.

Ankalaev is a little different from Khabib and Islam tho. And it seems he plays the heel more, he's more malicious. Like kicking in the balls often, the kick to the grounded opponent vs Johnny Walker, oblique kicks... He's one that is there to hurt totally. He doesn't get into media nor is he interested to like Islam and Khabib, he likes more having that jab provocations with opponents of his level like Poatan, but he's there to fight only... And he seems the type that will fight basically way more as a champion. And he's so tough... His toughness is interesting. Either after the Jan fight he got immunity to pain, or he managed to increase his resilience. He seems like a refined earlier Jiri Prochazka, that is, high stamina, huge abnormally toughness and malicious techniques to win.

Btw Alex isn't fighting on 205 anymore likely. Ankalaev will need to figure out against Jiri Prochazka, Khalil Rountree... It's gonna be tough but the division will be interesting. They aren't the type to call each other out honestly... This Zhang from China is also interesting.

Alex according to some has fought 3x this year already lol ...... We missed Alex last dance irl I guess....

Or... maybe the cost of transporting these fighters/hassle of getting them visas is not worth it given the current world climate?

The UFC is a monopoly and very few of the other western promotions pay anything substantial. I do not think it should surprise anyone that international recruitment is not an viable option for most promotions.
or maybe the fact there are 4 months out of the year they wont fight has something to do with it

Seriously. If there are some Dag LHW or HW with a pulse lets get them over here ASAP lmao
If the other guy can use the herb 🌿 when fighting then sure. Topuria said : "those fighters from Dagestan hide there in convenient times to avoid test for PEDs, they aren't clean*. He may be BS'ing buy Umar was caught for PEDs usage already... Islam weighs 180 naturally and cuts down to 155 ... And that for years and years. Ppl talk about JJ, but they should say they're also on herb 🌿 or Ankalaev should say he's also a steroid machine ...

They're boring both in and out of the cage. Outside the cage, especially. They are devoid of personality.
