-His first 17 wins are against total cans no one ever heard of. Only time their names are mentioned is in relation to Khabib.
-He lost to his first legit opponent, Tibau. This fight was a draw at most. Robbery.
-His three best wins are RDA, Conor and Dustin...
-Gathje is totally overrated, one dimensional, lost to Alvarez for crying out loud... Stupid mma media and "experts" pumped up this fight while it was an obvious mismatch from the getgo.
-Never faced a legit wrestler in his carreer. Al Iaquinta was the best wrestler he ever faced.
    -Only three title defences.

Not even close to a goat status.

No he is not close. That will be the consensus opinion if he does not fight again. He has GOAT potential and was well on his way, but there is no way you can consider him the GOAT.

The hype is high right now because of recency bias.

I meant before UFC. My point is you can't name them, Jon jones faced his share of cans. Facts.

Agreed, LW GOAT for sure but he doesn't have enough top ten wins. Fedor, GSP, Anderson, Jones, DC, Aldo are all ahead of him. In front of guys like Randy, Hendo, Hughes, Saku etc though. I'd say he's at least top 10.

There's a difference between 10 opponents and 17 opponents. You expect fighters to fight top guys after 2 fights or what?

You named Jones UFC opponents, while you were trashing Khabib's pre UFC run. You failed at your own claim.

That's not what I said at all. TS said Khabib's first 17 opponents (Pre UFC were total cans) alleging that Jones pre UFC run was much better, I asked him to name the guys, he couldnt, started quoting the guys he fought in the UFC, which was not the point of his claim.

I agree with your thread title purely based on lack of accomplishments, but you're way off base with a lot of the rest. Nearly every champ has a few unknowns on their record, nearly every champ has a questionable decision or 2, and while they may not have been mma-proven wrestlers, he best several people with elite credentials.
