Lee lost the key fights as a contender. Instead of fighting guys doing well another approach is to take time off and call out shopworn names to get back on track that way. Easier. Not much point in watching that road.

He was never that good to begin with. Got absolutely pieced up by Nick Diaz early in his career, went 3-5 in Strikeforce and got fast tracked to title shot in his 2nd UFC run. His wars with Rory is what his known for, where he proved that he’s more durable and made a sacrifice to JBG gods. His skill set was never elite. Any version of Robbie would got absolutely schooled by guys like Usman and Colby
