These top guys know they are going to get paid wherever they go, so like you said why not just take a little pay cut and join the team that will get you glory. They all make a shit ton with sponsors anyway.
 
I wouldn't blame the league as much as Durant. Bolting for a 73-win juggernaut which just besmirched your team after being down 3-1 is pretty much the biggest bitch move in recent major sports history. Sad!

The GSW have destroyed the competitive balance of the NBA for the foreseeable future. that said I'm okay with a "BIG 3" but a big 4, 5, or 6 shouldn't be allowed. the limit to all star fire power should be two or three players max.

i'm completely disinterested in the Finals. not because my Rockets lost. but because barring a significant injury to curry or Durant CAVs V Warriors is a foregone conclusion.

And Warios signed KD in free agency, they didn't trade for him. What you're suggesting is essentially an elimination of free agency. Even the NFL collective bargaining agreement allows for free agency lol
 
You can't stop someone from signing as a FA. Nothing should have been blocked. The correct response is what has happened. Public shaming for running to the team that humiliated him.
 
If they got rid of Durant for any reasonably athletic center they would be better off right now.

The thing that to me is odd about these super teams is that everyone has to act counter to their own financial interest for them to happen. Maybe, there are residuals with spnsorship but team pay is a cut. Boston I think was the first due to three over the hill guys wanting a run. The Heat three were younger. The Warriors have three guys in their prime. I wonder if people willing to take a big pay cut are also people who tend to play good team basketball. Like the guys who want to make it work are the only people who could mesh to make it work.

Cleveland + 15 offensive rebounds. Jrs last rebound was over durant. Same story vs houston. The best team lost that series.

Durant is shooting like garbage because he routinely settles for the worst shots.

He isnt even trying to guard lebron. Every screen is an automatic switch leaving curry on lebron most of the time.
