this was actually a pretty damn good fight against not a world-class fighter, but a good young prospect in Humberto Soto. In the beginning Kevin was slick and gave the kid hard times landing shots like he usually does, though in the 4th and a bit later Soto found a home for his right-hand. The old veteran had his work cut out for him as it seemed the kid was getting stronger. But then something cool happened. In true Flushing Flash fashion, Kevin started bating the kid into trade-wars and using the one thing that never escapes veterans, power, staggering Soto more than once while never seeming entirely hurt himself as opposed to being off-balance. In the end Kevin finished looking not-soo fatigued and staggering Soto a couple times in the 11th and 12th. Kevin Kelley wins a UD for a vacant and I think rather meaningless belt, but still it's good to see one 35 year-old win his fight tonight and take a belt home. lol
Was it? Man it was 3 in the morning and I had just watched the whole 2 hour card after watching the Cintron/Margarito card. LOL Hey even the best of us slip occasionally. That's another thing that sucks about the way they show programs on American television, they almost never tell you the dates these cards are on and I didn't bother looking the shit up. My bad. LOL
Hey, congrats to Kevin Kelley!!! Now I'd like to see him step up and faces Naseem Hamed, which I think would be a helluva fight. But as much as I dislike him, I think Hamed wins this fight somewhere around the fourth round....but not before each of them take multiple trips to the canvas.... Call me crazy if you want, but that's the way I see that fight playing out.
HA HA HA!! Shut up Sharkey. lol So I entered a time-warp at 3 in the morning. It never happens to you? I'm sure sometimes when you're atwork or something someone asks you your age and you get all squared up to say 26 or something. lol The one good thing about it though is at least he did step up to fight Barerra depite getting pasted. And for a guy his age the guys he's fighting and beating do have winning records. So I'll still cheer for the Old Lion.
Glad I'm not the only one. lol Psshh, man if I got all touchy and shit the way some people around here do you and Tam would eat me alive. Then everyone else would join in for the feeding frenzy. I'm not beyond laughing at my own absent-mindedness. A healthy sense of humor keeps people alive. Hell I mentioned in another thread that whenever I tell someone I box and they ask me how good I am I say: "Well I had 104 knockouts....and 1 that I won." You should see their faces. lol
Dude, that's the only way to continue to post and have fun on here. If you EVER let others cause you grief ... you're done. Course, it took me a long time of arguin and stewin before I learned it ....
I hear ya man, especially coming from someone with a higher post-count than both the mods. The way I see it at least the boys who are worth anything can have a laugh, even if it's at my expense. But if you knew me in person this sort of thing isn't shocking. By no means am I stupid, but I am occasionally that guy who will put his dirty dish in the bathroom sink, or stick the milk in the cupboard and the cup in the refrigerator. lol
