Here's my situation: I trained for nearly two years at a gym in Amarillo, Tx, then I moved to Denton, Tx to go to school. I took about six months off, then found a gym in Denton and started training again. My couch there, in Denton, told me within the first month of my training that I would be the next person to be promoted to blue belt. It never happened. Two years later, I had worked my way up to four stripes on my white belt.
I'm not going to complain or anything, but the truth is, half the blues in the gym couldn't tap me, and I traded taps with the others.
I then quit for four years. Now, I've moved again to Raleigh, North Carolina. And once more, I'm at a new gym. So, should I scrap my four stripes and put in another 1 or 2 years to hit blue, or not?
I'm only concerned that I might some how be sandbagging by starting from scratch.
