Sick omoplata stuff, love it. Something I've tried to figure out before but couldn't. Thanks

Wow, that omoplata stuff just reminds me how weak my own game from there is. Great stuff.

I will try the leg lock for berimbolo defence, that move is sick.

Very, very cool stuff. I love the backwards ankle lock and omoplata crucifix, and that kneebar is ridiculously simple. As for the 360 berimbolo defense, one of my teammates is into that, and IMO you can counter it by rotating into X-guard (same as if spinning through to X via DLR) if you keep your hooks sticky/hips elevated and move with the guy. At least that's what worked pretty consistently when my teammate was trying it.

    Ankle lock looks cool.
Will probably actually find good use of that knee bar.
Re-rolling after the omoplata sweep seems like an easy way to deal with that awkward arm ride side control.
Shifting the omoplata down to the shin looks brutal.

    Overall quite a useful video.

Awesome stuff. Love the details on the omoplata crucifix. Will def try the leg locks too.

Funny that Keenan showed the pirouette as a legit defense against berimbolo. I have very little knowledge on defending it, and all I ever try is to spin out like that. It just feels so natural. Honestly thought someone somewhere had created a solid counter to it though.

Love the leglocks, will absolutely try it out tomorrow.

I've seen the spin before even as a general de la riva counter, and I think that it's kinda risky cause getting stuck in x-guard while you turn is not that unlikely..

Will try it out again anyway!

it's funny because i've used this to counter the RDLR backtake:

it makes sense to do the same thing, just the other way for the regular DLR.

it just never occured to me to counter the berimbolo that way. it's beautiful.

Might be early to say it but Keenan may end up being one of the greatest instructors ever in the future.
