This is Matrix movie star Keanu Reeves. He was abandoned by his father at 3 years old and grew up with 3 different stepfathers. He is dyslexic. His dream of becoming a hockey player was shattered by a serious accident. His daughter died at birth. His wife died in a car accident. His best friend, River Phoenix, died of an overdose. His sister battled leukemia.
No bodyguards, no luxury houses. Keanu lives in an ordinary apartment and likes wandering around town and often seen riding a subway in NYC.
When he was filming the movie "The Lake House," he overheard the conversation of two costume assistants, one crying as he would lose his house if he did not pay $20,000 - On the same day, Keanu deposited the necessary amount in his bank account. In his career, he has donated large sums to hospitals including $75 million of his earnings from “The Matrix” to charities.
In 2010, on his birthday, Keanu walked into a bakery & bought a brioche with a single candle, ate it in front of the bakery, and offered coffee to people who stopped to talk to him.
In 1997 some paparazzi found him walking one morning in the company of a homeless man in Los Angeles, listening to him and sharing his life for a few hours.
In life, sometimes the ones most broken from inside are the ones most willing to help others.
This man could buy everything, and instead every day he gets up and chooses one thing that cannot be bought:

To be a caring person.

Not all heroes wear capes.

The story I heard about the 20,000 was from the matrix for a set builder. Now I'm more convinced these Keanu stories are filled with BS.

For a big time celebrity like him, he blends very well with the crowd. I think people have this deep respect for him and just leave him alone.

I've met him twice, first time he was the nicest person you could hope to meet and we had a 10 minute conversation about motorcycles. Second time was about three years later, I didn't notice him until he approached me and called my name. He seemed to remember every detail about our first meeting and we had another conversation about bikes. Seemed very genuine and nice as can be both times, hard not to be a fan of the guy.

That is awesome. His love of motorcycles is well known so I’m sure he was excited to talk to a fellow gearhead. The story I’ve always heard is that he bought brand new bikes for the entire special effects crew for The Matrix because he knew they were the ones really making the movie

One of my buddies met him. Said he was a great guy.

He's been in some good movies and seems like a genuinely nice guy. However, he's a terrible actor with 0 range and wooden as fuck. I still watch his movies strictly because they're mostly good.

Seems to have managed to stay a real human despite being in Hollywood. Maybe because of all the tragedies he's endured? In any case it's pretty cool to see. I've always been a fan going back to Bill and Ted.
