Best fight from the event in my opinion.

Karate banging.

I only watched the Gabriel Varga fight. He got taken down quite a bit. Weird that they don’t penalize spamming takedowns in karate.

I think he learned a lot from that, because his opponent came with a good gameplan which I don’t think Varga was expecting. I think he comes back from the experience better in this ruleset and eventually becomes champ

Nope, karate is full of takedowns. I think they only include the 5 second rule to help separate the league from MMA. If you’re sitting back to the angled wall you’re not ‘downed’ so all regular strikes are usable, and there’s no time limit to save you.

but yeah, Varga didn’t get beat in striking, he got beat because of the aggression scoring from the takedowns
