I don't know if it's his power as much as the range he fights at. Obviously he has good power, but he has a smothering/volume style which makes it hard to see the shots coming. In every one of those gifs the thing that sticks out to me is that he's moving forward smothering the other guy, and still lands good, hard shots. He gets them in, and I guess because he's so close, the other guy doesn't see the shots at all.

The guy is one hell of an infighter. I will give him that.

Gaethje could immobilize Conor's legs and movement with a couple well placed leg kicks.
