Justified vs. Sons of Anarchy

Okay I'm a huge Justified fan and followed the show since it's inception. The fact that it was based off of Elmore Leonard's (RIP) literary works and the fact that Walton Goggins whom was awesome as Shane on The Shield automatically sold me since day one. It's by far my current favorite FX show (2nd all time only to The Shield) but it's admittedly the only FX show I really watch nowadays.

SOA is arguably FX's top drama but I've never gotten a chance to get into it. Is it worth my time? Where would you rank it among the current top shows of today? Where does it rank within the FX hierarchy? Better than Justified or no? I need a new show to get into so I'm willing to listen to suggestions.

Justified is a little too southern for my tastes. I only watched a few episodes. SOA is pretty decent though.

FX is still much better at comedy than drama (e.g. It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Archer, The League, Wilfred, Louie, etc.), but they've definitely been coming up. SoA has at times flirted with being a great show, but when confronted with two divergent roads in a wood, it has always decisively chosen to be a glorified white trash soap opera.

Justified >> SoA.

I think you'll find a respectable chunk who would argue that The Shield is the best FX drama ever, especially among the critics; fewer that Nip/Tuck claims that. SoA might win that vote by brute force of popularity, but Justified, IMO, is clearly the best drama they've ever done...flawed as it is.

Sons of Anarchy is straight crap. Just poop. Horrible show. And Sutter is delusional is his constant belief that the show is being snubbed of awards and praise.

Edit: Justified can be pretty crappy, too. It might be one of the better series by default since there isn't all that many truly quality series on at any one time.

Id say Justified. SOA is good but IMO not great. Too much repetative crap, keep doing things in cycles,characters never learn, just silly writing, not to mention "little" things like ridiculous car/bike/.. chases lol... And sooo much drama in later seasons... Also could never accept how Jax walks and talks, his mannerism seem comic and cartoonish at times, completely exaggerated.
Justified is less drama, more straightforward but in a way also less complex. But IMo better made.

SOA is garbage. It has so many dumb storylines and is rife with logic flaws.

I'd say The Americans is right up there with Justified in being FX's top drama on the air right now.

Season 2 of Justified is one of my favorite seasons of all time. The character interaction and acting is great on Justified. I watch SOA but it is a notch below Justified.
