With the UFC announcing the launch of the Women's Featherweight Division in the UFC, as well as the inaugural title fight between Holm and Germaine de Randamie, I find myself wondering who currently in the UFC would actually be in the division. I mean, is this going to be a case where some of the lower ranked bantamweights move up for a chance at fighting for the title, or is the UFC going to have to go out and sign a bunch of featherweights to fill out the division because they don't have the fighters for the division like they had to when they announced the strawweight division?

The only ones who would be halfway decent sized for 145 besides Holm and GDR are Evans-Smith, Nunes who probably won't move up, Duke (lololol) and possibly Zingano and Ronda who could fight there but would be small. So they would sign new fighters mostly.

Duke's back in Invicta, so that's one less.

I know she's fought there a few times, but I thought she was still under contract with the UFC. She's 3-5 with a massive loss streak though...

I think it will be a mix of both things

    From WBW:
    Holm
    Randamie
    Renau
    Evans Smith

    From Invicta:
    Anderson
    Tweet
    Walker
Dandois (maybe, she is fighting at 135 too)

Probably some others I'm missing, I just put the top ladies, division is shit though

Is Reneau considered a big BW? Never thought of her that way, and she's listed at 5'6. I guess she's older so weight cutting might be hard but...

I don't expect many UFC bantamweights to go up aside from perhaps Zingano, who is on a losing skid. They'll poach a few Invicta featherweights and sign some 145 Brazilians and Europeans.

No one. Holly & Germaine fight for the inaugural belt, Ronda gets a shot at the winner, then the division gets retired.

Ronda won't be able to make weight after she gets KO'ed again. Maybe if they open a 185 division she could compete.

Ronda would be fine at 145 no way is she to small. She kills herself to get to 145 and zingano would probably fit in fine but might be a tad undersized.

They should a done a 125 but they are banking on holly winning and Ronda too thenice setting up a super champ vs champ fight and claim hoe brave Ronda is moving up to fight a giant 100x bigger than her.
