just watched the first 15 minutes of Netflix South Korean Action movie CARTER. anyone else?

Not into Asian movies unless it's like Bruce Lee or Raid

it's like a mix between raid and hardcore henry and i guess 1917/Children of Men/The Protector for it's single shot take aesthetic.
I loved the first raid even if the sub titles were annoying. I might give it a shot. No FSN of hard-core Henry as the first person shit got old fast

yeah i hear ya regarding HH. I still really enjoyed it. But this movie isn’t first person. It’s pretty ambitious but some parts the execution not the best.

You're recommending it after 15 minutes?

I just looked it up and the reviews are terrible...

...into Asians? Like Asian chicks?

That was my first thought.

Okay. I finished the movie and it wasn’t that good but still worth a watch just for how ridiculous and over the top it is. Maybe best to watch high or drunk.

I saw this last night super drunk and and it was highly enjoyable for me. I was drunk texting all my friends about it. I rewatched it today sober and I still enjoyed it but nowhere near as much as I was ranting about it while drunk. Enjoyable action flick though.

The fact ts just seemingly just switched it off and considered it done after 15 minutes I'm gonna guess he at the very least managed to jack off to it

To be fair, there were a ton of mostly nude people getting stabby in a bathhouse in the first ~ 15 minutes.

I liked it, insanely over the top. Tons of action, lots of long shots, lots of drone camera work.

If you get really blitzed one night and think "You know what would be nice right now? A Korean pulp movie that combines John Wick, Mission Impossible, and an Earth based version of Total Recall with zombies instead of Mars" then this is the movie for you.

If you're expecting some art house pic with great writing, this is not your movie. They blew the whole budget on action sequences and drones.

LOL - This movie....lol - If you want non stop action with zero story line. Well I mean there is a story but it makes no sense and I still don't really understand it.

But if you want action and killing.....holy crap! If you can think of a way to fight, kill, do stunts, make things so completely unbelievable in a movie, then this is it!!

The death toll that Carter racks up in ridiculous ways makes John Wick look like an amateur!

Korean movies are hit or miss. They are really good at emoting deep emotions but their acting/script isn't great yet. There is no in between yet. They are filling the gap in the Asian market though. HK films have been dead since the handover and Chinese censorship. Chinese movies are dookie shoes because they need to pass some sort of censorship review board. The product is always very PC. Japanese acting has always been off because they have a real deep Japanese theater influence on their films.

I honestly don't mind a western version of the original series. Koreans do the same thing with copying American TV. I never seen it though but the website I sometimes watch movies on has international series. I giggle when I see Korean versions of entourage or criminal minds.

don't want to spoil it, but anyone that is into asians should def. check it out.

anyone seen this movie yet? there is interesting camera work. i guess it's like raid and movies such as that.

ever since parasite won a bunch of awards, netflix has been flooded with korean movies/shows. they are, for me, usually simultaneously good and bad. i also noticed that they follow a very similar color scheme aesthetic with a lot of use of neons.

here are some other korean shit that i watched in the last few months that netflix recommended to me and now i am recommending it for at least one viewing to all of you ... if you're looking for something to watch.
