Thanks for the info..can find those dvd's on this site?

While were on the subject Anyone have any recomendations for a dvd guide on half gaurd or Kimuras or submission escapes/defense.

dude if u r a beginner just buy a book. the best book for ur situation is brazilian jiu jitsu theory and technique.

Actually I am a newb myself and am borrowing the theory and technique book long term from a friend. Before I knew I could borrow that book I searched the threads and found that a lot of sherdoggers including Aesop thought Kid Peligro's Path to the Blackbelt was better for a beginner. I have to say I agree. I bought both that and the essential guard and have not regretted it. Here are the books Aesop has reviewed:

Fixed

I would get BOTH "Theory and Technique" and "Path to the Black Belt" if I were you. The first one is a veritable encyclopedia of all the basic and most effective moves in BJJ. The second one is an even more in depth and basic book that focuses on the entire game. As for DVD's, Saulo's Jiu Jitsu Revolution is the way to go.

DUde buy anything and everything you can. what' else you going to do with yo money. I bought Gustav machado "Great Escapes" I really like it. Expanded my game You don't find to many showing you how to get out of shitty positions.
