When I first saw the fight, I think I scored it 29-28 Yan, with Yan winning rounds 2 and 3, while round 1 could go either way.

This time around, I scored it 30-27 Yan. I have no idea how O’Malley could win more than 1 round. It just reminded me of Yan vs Sandhagen, where Corey was clearly making the fight competitive; but losing the entire time.

1st round: Close back and forth, but Yan outstruck O’Malley and earned the big slam takedown which actually counts as scoring. 10-9 Yan.

2nd Round: They both hurt each other, but Yan clearly hurts Sean more and lands many more impactful strikes and constant takedowns. 10-9 Yan.

3rd round: More of the same as round 2, but more takedowns by Yan and a lot of Sean defending. Striking seemed close, but Sean’s strikes would be blocked more often by Yan, whereas Yan’s strikes would land more flush.
10-9 Yan.

Total 30-27 Yan. Great fight.

IMO Yan won easily, and if the fight had been scheduled for 5 rounds, Yan would’ve destroyed Sean.

Still impressive that Sean was able to hang with Yan for 3 rounds. Credit to Sean where credit is due.

You gotta be on something to give Yan round 3… Damage was incompatable and that is the most important criteria if I remember correctly. He lost that round cleaner than any in his career. And there is also a very close round in that fight so any talk of robbery is absurd. I scores it 29-28 for O’Malley, but I would be content with 29-28 Yan also.

Yeah havent rewatched this one since it aired live. Gotta do that. Thought Yan won but wasn't mad at the decision at all.

Btw, that can't be the real ufc channel. Too many free fights lol

Yan got robbed but O'Malley is for real. I would love to see him fight Sandhagen.
Yeah, he actually showed a lot of heart in this one, and flipped my opinion in that regard. I kind of considered him a quitter before.

But he ate some huge shots and got rocked big time here, and fought through like a G.

I actually don't care for his rainbow haired shtick, but he's a fun scrapper in the cage.

you are correct.

and the funniest part about it were the three or four flat-earthers who were going around trying to convince everyone that the entire 100% (literally) of people places and things that had scored it for yan had somehow gotten it wrong. those threads were like listening to crazy uncle melvin.

Same here. I thought that he was a brittle front-runner but he passed the test. Yan is one of my favorite fighters and one of the most skilled stand-up strikers in any division - to hang with him means a lot.

Sugar GOAT O Malley dominated Yan easily. Our last chance for someone to derail him is submission by Aljimain or KO by Chito. If this doesn't happen then it's time to except that the sugar show is the all time greatest bantamweight to have ever done it.

You remember incorrectly.
Effective striking and effective grappling are the most important criteria.
But it's not a "damage trumps all" criteria as some people claim.
Damage and effective grappling are evaluated on the same level.
Only when both these things suggest a draw, control and aggressiveness come into play.

O malley at the end of the fight was almost dead... he shows heart but I gave the fight to yan... Even if I suspected the judges would have given the fight to O Malley. BTW it was a great fight.

O'Malley won the fucking fight. Instead of crying robbery Yan and his enablers should question why the fuck he took the number 13 guy in the division to a coin toss decision with the possibility of being robbed? Only at BW does this shit happen. Most overrated weight class ever
