Man that was robbery, I hate how these judges reward rounds where a point fighter barely wins the round as the same as a round a guy gets knocked down and turtles up like Whittaker did in rounds 3 and 5 he barely survived the rounds.

Now I realize we get a lot if scoring from boxing, but even boxing heavily rewards a round with a knockdown. If those aren't 10-8 rounds they need to redo the scoring badly.

Judging is just absolute garbage in MMA

Ts really means watched for the first time!

I watched it the other day and still thought Romero won. I don't know about a robbery as both guys gave as good as they got.

I can't help but think that Yoel missing weight went against him aswell. The UFC couldn't have their champ losing a non title bout.

I thought it was a draw.

Complete opposite from the first fight.

Definitely was arguable Romero won.

That said, I hope Adesanya wrecks Whittaker.

4th round was way closer than people remember. Yoel blocked most of Whittaker punches, and he had the biggest punches in the end, rocking Robert two times and having him on retreat at the end of it.

Whittaker won 3 rounds and Yoel won 2. At best it was a draw for Romero. Learn more about MMA.

It was a pretty garbage decision, for sure.

It was a draw at absolute worst.

From what I remember I had Romero winning but thought it could possibly be a draw

The only positive thing is Romero couldn't have won the title anyway since he missed weight, so it's not like he's an uncrowned champion anyway

10-8s and romero won 3.
Then round 1 should have been a 10-8 for Whittaker since he landed 50+ significant strikes to Romero’s 3 or 4.

Romero didn't make weight for either fight. Whittaker even though he didn't have to, took fights with arguably the most dangerous fighter on the UFC roster when he knew the man was heavier than the allocated weight limit for a title fight. If Romero was given the win for the 2nd fight he still couldn't have received the belt and then what? Have to do a Whittaker vs Romero 3? All in the span of a year or two? It wouldn't even make sense. I'll be waiting to see how Romero does at this weigh-in, especially because I want to see Romero starch the Costa hypetrain.

That's irrelevant, judging the fight should have nothing to do with Romero's weight

even if it was 10-8. whittaker gets 2 rounds at 20-17 and loses 3 rounds at 25-30 for romero due to 2x 10-8 rounds.

thats 45-47 for romero. simple math.

I get that but its a nightmare for the UFC. Because they let Romero bypass weight limits twice so Whittaker's entire time as a champion would have to be fighting Romero over and over? I couldn't think of a shittier way to be a middleweight champ. It would be one thing if he was fighting one eyed Bisping 3 times but Romero? Fuck that lol

Also whilst I thought Yoel won, Whitaker broke his hand in like the 2nd and still had to stand toe to toe with Romero. Much respect.
