Rewatched the fight. It’s a five round war. Came down to the 5th. Maybe too much of a chess match at times to some but Kelvin really almost had Izzy out of there in the 4th with the head-kick both showed incredible chins, heart, toughness. And amazing skillsets. Israel showed his ground game in the 5th and really dialed in, in the 5th round Izzy pretty much shuts down all the talk that Izzy is one dimensional or is over-rated. Etc.

Kelvin is a monster for not being stopped. What fight so far this year has been better than that one at least in the UFC? High stake fights and not a just highlight reel KO’s. There have been a ton of highlight KO’s this year....

Whitaker vs Israel is a pick em fight. It’s very difficult to not be a Whittaker fan for me. But that fight will deliver.

Could be. Absolutely amazing fight and display of guts from both fighters.

Also Santos and Jimmy has to be up there.
Edit: Fucked up thats 2018.

Kelvin’s chin is the stuff of legend. What a beard on that Mexican warrior.

I wouldn't argue against it. That fight and Max-Dustin may have been the best back to back fights I've ever seen.

I can’t remember any other fights this year off the top of my head. Adesanya vs Gastelum is definitely my FOTY so far.

Easily FOTY thus far.

Israel's footwork and striking diversity was on full display in rounds 2 and 3, but Kelvin did find that chin and almost had him. He'll def have his hands full with Bobby.

That fight was great but Santos was rather dominant IIRC also the stakes were lower in terms of title implications. Still a war but a 2 rounder. I should probably rewatch that one though it may have been closer than I remember.

One of the best fights I've ever seen.

Saw it live. The crowd was going absolutely mental every time the momentum changed. Craziest shit I've ever been to live.

Porier vs Holloway was epic too, i was drunk and pulling for porier tho.

That was maybe the best co-main/main pair of fights in UFC history.

Yeah, nothing's come particularly close to that fight this year for me.

Luque vs Barberena for me

That middleweight fight was fantastic though, defs #2

Yup it's mine so far it was a pretty amazing fight, multiple momentum swings knockdowns and near finishes.

Holloway vs Poirier was a good fight too but a bit too one sided imo. Luque vs Barberena is also low key a foty contender as well.

Incredible fight, amazing heart displayed by both and amazing chins as well. That last round was hard to watch. Definitely FOTY in my opinion.

Watching that one back right now. Max ate those shots from Dustin incredibly. If he wants to go to 155 he needs to take some time and put on some muscle and truly commit to 155. Both fighters stock rose in that one. All the talk of max cutting too much weight to make 145 went out the window when you see how slender Max looks at 155.
