Just rewatched Jones v Cormier...

I know these "just rewatched" threads are the worst... but anyway...

When I watched this fight at the time I remember Jones clearly winning. Not that he completely dominated but he definitely won very clearly.

Rewatching the fight (which is now on YouTube) I still think he definitely won. But Cormier done a lot better than I remembered. It was actually pretty close.

I just think that with the lay off, who knows how this fight will go. My head still tells me that Jones will obviously win and I'm an idiot for doubting him
But with the odds the way they are, Id be more of an idiot to not stick some money on Cormier

I had it 3 rounds to 2 for Bones.

It was a hell of a lot more competitive than the accepted meme of it being a one-sided blowout that we see repeated over and over here.

It was a very close fight and looking back, 49-46 for all 3 scorecards seems wrong.

Perceptions were skewed in Jones's favor due to his few fleeting takedowns--simply because nobody expected him to be able to take DC down. Gus got similar praise for his worthless takedown of Jones.

Yes great fight much closer then people make it out to be. DC won 2 rounds just didn't quite do enough for a 3rd. What are the odds? I may want to make a small bet on him

Nope not even remotely accurate. The goat Jon goat Jones made DC look like a small child, and he will again .

Cormier put up a good fight until he literally and figuratively got son'd by Jones at the end of that 4th round. It was a watershed moment where Cormier lost his pride, self respect, manhood, and ultimately mind
