Sup ya'll. Need to get this off my chest. Sorry if this isn't the right place.

Anyways, couple months ago, I put $1000 in my BET365 account. Over the coming weeks, I managed to turn that 1k into 4.5k, mainly betting on sports such as NBA, UFC and volleyball.

Today however, I felt exceptionally greedy for some reason (mistake #1) and decided to place a 2k parlay (mistake #2) on a series of matches I felt confident in. That however, didn't work out and I ended up losing $2000. I couldn't bear seeing my account balance down all the way to 2.5k, and so I placed more bets throughout the day that I felt confident in. Long story short, I managed to recover the 2k that I lost. That's right, I made up the 2k and had my account back up to 4.5k, where I started the day off at. I was feeling relieved and was about to call it quits for the evening.

However, a very greedy part of my being convinced me to place one more parlay, just so I could ride the hot streak that I was currently on and end the day over the 5k mark. So I put in 4.5k (mistake #3) on a 4 match parlay, 3 of which ended up winning, with the 4th one losing to a buzzer beating 3 point shot (Euroleague).

Before I knew it, I had lost $4500 in a blink of an eye.

To all of your betters and gamblers out there, never, EVER make the same 3 mistakes that I made.

Never, ever get too greedy (mistake 1).
Never, ever place 50% of your account's capital on a single bet (mistake 2).
Never, ever place 99% of your account's capital on a single bet (mistake 3).

I got too cocky, I got too stubborn, I got too confident, and I lost everything in my account.

To end things, I just want to say that I only put $1000 in originally, and I did not plan to ever see this money again. So if shit hit the bed (and it did) I wouldn't be overly disappointed about it (I still am, however). The $1000 that I put in I could afford to lose - my finances are solid and I'm not hurting financially because of this loss as I never was expecting it to help me in the first place. Still however, it just hurts a bit knowing I made a few G's only to lose it all in a blink of an eye. I could have had a lot of fun with a few thousand dollars..

I have a total of $20.81 left in my betting account, and I don't plan on adding anymore for at least another 365 days.

LIVE BY THE GAMBLE. DIE BY THE GAMBLE.

Seems like you lack the knowledge and relied on pure arrogance.

Let it be a lesson.

Sounds like the average day trader.

Wish you the best though, study the game and bet accordingly bro.

I’m sure I’ve got some sherbucks in my account somewhere. You can have it.

At this point you have small gambling problem, you refill that account before 365 days and you risk entering into addiction territory

I think I developed somewhat of a gambling addiction, went 500 bucks into btc futures turned into 1700 or so in a week and then lost it all in one trade a couple months ago and just had to sit back and accept I got an issue

Wow, putting it all on a single parley was fucking crazy.

Whether you believe in God or not, the Bible is a collection of wisdom. On the matter that is partially relevent:

Proverbs 13:11 - Wealth gained hastily will dwindle, but whoever gathers little by little will increase it.

1 Timothy 6:10 - For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs.

Ecclesiastes 5:10 - He who loves money will not be satisfied with money, nor he who loves wealth with his income; this also is vanity

Tough luck, bro. Bet smarter or get out of the game altogether if you think you can't.

Me, I love my gambling addiction. Wish I had developed it 10 years ago when I was starting the first semester of a degree I would never actually have any use for. I'd have quit uni back then and just gambled ever since.

Making up for lost time now though.

Stay strong brother. Good work for coming out proudly and telling Mayberry.

I don't want to an asshole but I cannot believe that any adult has only $4500 cash.

There was a psychologist who claimed that gamblers want to lose because they keep betting until they do.

You still have your $5,000 Sherdog sportsbook money

Put another $4500 on KC this week at +3.5.
It’s a lock.
$9000 in your account ain’t bad.

Then make a Mystic Magua appreciation thread.

Never understood people who don’t withdraw from gambling accounts.

I do think I can generate money gambling on certain things, but once you start you start betting on things you don't know well while you wait for a good bet. And that's why gambling busines is massive business.

If you absolutely have to bet, then you should have an clear-cut strategy that you never deviate from. Much like strategy for trading. Its all about probability, psychology and place a small percentage of your total to minimize risk.
