In Mexico. He said they would sweep the floor......

Im not from that kinda of home but my day was, its common on countryside houses still. You basically beat up the ground until it gets really hard, its not even "true mud" after some time so you definetly needs to sweep it, you can see dirtness on that type of flor

Yeah, fairly typical. In Egypt for example you usually eat on the floor too even in a regular house, it's just thing to not have tables. Might seem odd to us but there's a lot of places on earth it's not a thing.
