There's levels to the eye poking game. Jon Jones know how to defend against pokes and he knows exactly when to strike.

DC only knows when to strike and they're only able to land on guys who don't have that Jones-level defense.

he lost a title fight to jones and as a wrestler im sure it hurt him deep that he didnt do "everything" possible to win, especially against someone who will and does. so if its as simple as the refs wont do anything about it, then you better "man up" or someone else will.

no i dont condone or excuse this behavior. as a huge dc fan it sucks to know he will eye poke someone like stipe, who will not do anything like that to him on purpose.

yes i do think camps prepare fouls into their gameplans. some more than others but the blame is on the refs. how the fuck can i kick someone in the nuts twice, then eye poke them, and its treated as a different set of fouls.?. you'd be a fool to not try something after its been done to you

I seem to recall that his last fight with Cormier, held in a state that had adopted the new rules about not pointing the fingers out, was remarkably poke-free. I suppose the more commissions get on board, the less he'll poke...or at least until he figures out another cover for doing it. I wonder if he was watching DC's thumb technique against Stipe and taking notes.
