Just curious....What's the age of the oldest person traing at your academy?

i have rolled with a guy who was 53.. and seen at afriends tkd class a 60

We have a much older crowd as the belts go up... (not form natural belt progression though haha).

So most of the whitebelts are young, where all of our purple belts are at least thirty or so.

We have A LOT of 34+ year olds. One 50 something purple belt who works harder than anyone (comes every day) - and two brown belts who I'd guess are over 40.

Also have a 40 something blackbelt.

Somewhere in the LA area, or maybe in the bay area not sure, is a 55+ year old (probably older) blackbelt. I think he trains at Dave Camarillo's - that guy has the 600lb bear strength we were talking about earlier.

we've got a guy thats 48 and he competed at the Seni this year, I think he should have been in Senior3 but there wasnt that age cat so he fought in Senior1 and got gold!!!

this guy is 50

Fifty something. Trains on Saturdays usually. He just made blue a few weeks ago.

I would also like to mention that I catch wrestle. So it's No Gi. It's only once a week but we go live almost the entire 2 hours of class hard. If anyone here does train No Gi you know it is alot tougher than Gi training.

These old bastrads don't seem to understand you are supposed to get tired and open subs up once in a while. I understand it. Heck, I do it all the time for those old S.O.B.s and they take full advantage.

I had a 60 year old judo instructor once who at one point was a successfull bodybuilder. He was retired and all he did all day was train. The guy was friggin 60, had a massive six pack and had been training martial arts for 50 years. He was the most physically impressive pensioner ive ever seen.
In my bjj club the oldest is 27 but that doesnt count as its a university club. My judo club most are 30s and 40s id say.

The oldest guy is 62, and is very strong and fit (he can do 20 ass to grass front squats with 205 pounds (ie a barbell as heavy as he is). He started about six years ago after a heart attack (doctor told him to get active, do some sport), now his blood pressure is 110/70 (was 170/120 when he started) and his doctor says to keep on doing whatever he's doing ... he's made a full recovery.
