I certainly would have shed zero tears if Gus was awarded the decision.

He beat Jon to a bloody, swollen mess, and even out-wrestled him. But Jones showed great heart with the way he fought in the championship rounds. It was a very close fight in the end.

Fight was a freakin WAR.

It was a close fight, not a robbery. The first 3 rounds were Gus' best in the fight, but they were very close and you could just as easily score a couple of them in Jones' favor. Round 4 wasn't so clear cut either, Jones had Gus hurt bad in the last seconds but people forget Alex was pretty comfortably in control of the round up until that point. Rd 5 is the only one where I don't think there's any room for controversy, and even there Gustafsson put up a decent effort. I thought Gus won watching it live, maybe partly due to the bias of never really having seen Jones look vulnerable before.
