RBR Junto Nakatani vs Ryosuke Nishida June 8th ESPN+

Victor Santillan is 14-1 as a pro, more than 200 amateurs fight and is a southpaw. Tenshin better bring his A-game.

It will be hard for Tenshin to outshine Naoya and Nakatani who are far bigger star, though Tenshin always had showed great promise.

Never heard of him, but if correct this seems like a strange fight to book then.

Tenshin just beat a former champ in Moloney, you'd think he'd either step up again or fight a bum to keep busy rather than taking on a potentially dangerous nobody.

Will we get Junto vs Bam or Junto vs Inoue in 2025? Im starting to think Junto beats both.

Is this on right now? Can't find any gentle flowing waters

Credit to Nishida who was tough but hopelessly outgunned.

This forum is funny. We have all these random fights that nobody cares about .... and deep down the page is a sparse thread covering a P4P talent who unified the bantamweight titles, moving inexorably towards one of the most consequential showdowns in boxing between two of Japan's arguably best all-time fighters ever.

First, my thoughts on Tenshin: he is a "cute" fighter. Lots of punching diversity, very technical and sharp, and he has an instinct for entertainment. However, without his freakish kicks, knees and spinning attacks he can only go so far. I'm sure he could give any champion GREAT work in the gym but he does not seem cut out to succeed at boxing's highest levels. His punching power isn't there for one, and there are questions about how he will deal with adversity. Although he did well with the cut suffered last night. I might be wrong--and if he does succeed in boxing we all have to recognize this wunderkind and what he has done in kickboxing (he might be an ATG), and now boxing.

Nakatani is just an animal. He has extreme confidence in his chin and power and is not afraid to throw power with power. I think he will engage Inoue in a firefight and this will be very dangerous for both men. If Junto has an all-time chin, Inoue might be in serious trouble here. I haven't watched Nakatani's fights (just some highlights) to evaluate his defense but his carefree, predatory attitude would also play into Inoue's hands, as he can be defensively responsible and will likely not get hit by the same counter twice. At this point, I give Inoue 60-40 odds but even if he does win, he will likely get badly hurt at least once.

i do somewhat agree on tenshin. he has the speed and timing, just not the power or boxing experience to become champion. i dont question his willpower. but at the moment there are just too many guys who are one level better.

junto is an absolute beast. but i think inoue is much more precise and quicker. i can see him catching junto during one of his combinations. on the other hand junto may just overwhelm inoue with his physicality. distance control will be key.

re: Tenshin, yes it's fair to say he showed a lot of grit vs. Rodtang and stood up to Takeru's late rally.

the beauty and fright of Junto vs. Inoue is that both men may catch each other. They are both alpha's and will refuse to the be 'nail' to the other's 'hammer' so the fight will be dynamic as long as it lasts. I haven't been this excited for a lighter weight fight since Donaire vs. Rigo. That was also a criminally underpublicized fight. It pains me to see that these warriors warrant so little attention.

You really think Junto beats Inoue? He's superb, but I'm not sure he's quite as special as Inoue. Probably the naturally bigger man though.

Inoue Vs Nakatani when? It's my most wanted fight in boxing now, like the Bivol Vs Beterbiev of the lighter weights.

I dont know, I think Inoue keeps his hands down a lot and can be found out of position in the way he moves his feet more often than than necessary. Junto is really good and like you said, naturally bigger. Inoue being floored hard a couple times in recent bouts has me worried.

Hes going to face MJ next then likely either petition for Juntor or move up. The fights I want the most for him are Junto and Espinoza.
