Miocic-Joshua.jpg

According to online gambling outlet Odds Checker, Miocic would be considered a -5000 (1-50) favorite should he ever gets his hands on the WBA (Super), IBF, and IBO heavyweight boxing champion inside of the Octagon. Joshua currently comes in as a +1000 (10-1) underdog.

Those are absolutely staggering betting odds, especially considering Conor McGregor was given a measly -900 edge over Floyd Mayweather Jr. for their potential UFC clash. Maybe the talk of UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley training Mayweather has rubbed off on the oddsmakers.

I guess it’s safe to say that Miocic’s recent UFC title defense over knockout sensation Francis Ngannou is really resonating with the combat sports world. Add in Miocic’s record-setting title reign and the UFC kingpin will be favored against any man on the planet.

Bookies obviously know who's the baddest man on the planet. Who would you bet on?

I would take those odds. AJ round one knock out. It's a punt but betting on stipe wouldn't be worth it imo.

It's because Stipe is a wrestler and McGregor is not. That's the difference.

who would expect something like that

Joshua by KO

A-level athlete > D-level athlete

Have people learned nothing from seeing Stipe run trough the heavyweight division? It would be just like Couture vs. Toney.

Anything better than 7 to 1 for Joshua I’d put down money

It’s heavyweight bruh

I would too, sure Stipe should be a heavy favourite but Joshua does have some sort of chance.

I wouldn't favour Anthony. I'd favour stipe to win. I'd bet on Joshua though with those odds.

Does that make sense?

Why are the odds so vastly disparate from each other ie. if Joshua is a 10-1 underdog why would Stipe be a 50-1 favorite? That makes zero sense.

To dissuade you from betting on Stipe

I'd back joshua even if he was favourite for the fight. Joshua beats stipe easily, 1st round ko.

1-50

You put 50 down you get 1 back
I know, I'm saying it's never that huge a disparity normally. Like when Holly was a 10-1 underdog to Ronda or whatever Ronda wasn't a 1-50 favorite.

Because it's also a hypothetical and probably includes them fighting within a period of time. No one has trained for it and it is baseless speculation.

are you really comparing toney to joshua right now?
{<doc}

stipe could still wrasselfook him.
toney is not joshua.

Toney is a more decorated boxer but much smaller

Couture is a less decorated MMA fighter and also smaller than Stipe

Pretty valid, imo
