Joshua getting $100 million: MMA is the A - class sport with C - level money

Jab, run, jab, run, jab, run, jab, run

I love watching Wilder but That last Joshua fight was boring. I’m usually not one to criticize gameplans but in mma, it entertains me. In boxing, the weapons are so limited that it’s boring as fuck when someone jabs and runs the entire time. At least mma has kicks and elbows and sub attempts etc. not saying it can’t be boring but boxing is soooooo boring when fights go the way Joshua-Ruiz 2 did

It wasnt the most just bleed friendly super exciting fight. But I think the stakes, the context and the way AJ was able to adapt and show new layers to his game stopped it from being boring. Completely shutting someone down over 36 minutes when 6 months earlier they put you on your ass multiple times is not easy to do.

Yet the undercard boxers make WAY less than undercard MMA fighters...

I agree with you, you see guys on undercards for major boxing promotions getting paid worse than in the UFC. Just gotta point out though that several of these names went on to have MUCH bigger paydays than whats listed here.

And there are several UFC fighters who went on to make much bigger paydays too starting off only making $3k/3k, $5k/5k, etc.

wmma have a part of blame in that. ufc made a intern socialist system to distribute the male stars money to most of these women that nobody cares to watch

And Benson Henderson, Matt Mitrione, Cheick Kongo, Ryan Bader, Rampage . . .
Benson is 5-3, could get cut with another loss
Mitrione 4-2-1, beat Fedor, still not making big bucks
Kongo 12-2-1 mostly laying and praying

Bader 5-0-1 the only guy that has done decent for himself, duel division champion, probably making more money than if he stayed in the UFC

How is he worth that much if nobody had heard of him in America/(the only place that matters when it comes to big money)
Americans think that the world consists of America and a few smaller countries.

Feel sorry for those that do not live in this beautiful country. But everything else is shit compared to America

Dana and co need to go, it is a joke at this point the MMA vs boxing pay disparity considering how much the big UFC shows make and the buyrate even eclipsing boxing.

I'm tired of seeing that fat boxercise coach paying himself all of what should be going to the top fighters.

MMA fighters are losing the financial fight badly, they are treated like human circus animals and paid a pittance for their committment.
Naw man, they get secret UFC bonuses these Sherdoggers, but not the IRS, know about. That makes up the difference, secret money.

I am sure there are only a few boxers who makes more than 1 million for a fight
I’m sure you have no idea how much boxers are getting paid. When guys like Billy Joe Saunders are signing for $2.3 million paydays, it’s not even possible for you to know.

The UFC really deserves more credit for how much they have expanded the reach of this sport and how organized they continue to be. The UFC has literally put in all of the time, effort and capital to grow this sport. I’m 34 years old, and I still remember in my adulthood a time when MMA was banned in more states than it was legal. Very powerful unions battled to keep MMA out of certain states like New York. The investment around the globe has been substantial and aggressive. Of course, all of this was done in the UFC’s interest, but nearly every fighter in every organization has benefited tremendously from the commitment the UFC has. People always bitch about the fact that the UFC sold for $4.1B, but they seem to forget that someone also had to pay that much to buy it.

Boxing has been an accepted part of the mass sporting world for well over 100 years, and yet even the highest caliber events (Joshua vs Ruiz 2) often feel like they’re thrown together at the last minute. Even with emerging stars making a ton of money, it always feels boxing is hanging on by a thread.

I would have to see full breakdown of the money. That seems like an excessively high amount of money that he will get paid for one fight. This is not one of the biggest fights in boxing history. Not even close. He is not Floyd Mayweather. 2002 Tyson and Lewis had the biggest heavyweight fight arguably of all time. Both men made $17 million with the event selling 2 million buys..
so you're suggesting that the numbers aren't real? they've been reported by pretty much every reputable source there is.

what does it matter where AJ stacks historically? he's the biggest HW boxing star today. that's all that matters. canelo signed a 10 fight contract for 350 million dollars and he isn't floyd mayweather either, nor is he fighting the biggest fights in his division's history. tyson making less money 17 years ago has nothing to do with any of it.
