I don't like Werdum at all but this.

I love Barnett, but testing positive as many times as he did is crazy, not to mention werdum has wins over fedor, and cain.

I think Barnett was better for longer, but Werdum at his peak was a better fighter than Josh ever was.

His striking evolved past Barnett's and his ground game, while not wrestling based, is second to no one.

Werdum isn't that athletic, but he moves more fluidly than Barnett, hence the superior striking.

I think Barnett has a better boxing than Werdum, better knees also....
 
Why would you include 'Metamoris' on Barnett's resume and not include any of Werdum's many grappling accomplishments? Thread wreaks of bias. Oh, and Pancrase is a bullshit pseudo pro Wrestling organization, not real MMA.
 
The Cain and Fedor W's are about as impressive as any W in the sport.

Werdum was a ufc world champion in the modern era...while barnett was as well, that was many many years ago...there is no question who has had a better career...Werdum by far...

You do realize that there is a strong possibility 99% of fighters are on something, right?.......especially considering Barnett is an old school fighter......
 
Josh Barnett is one of the greatest heavyweights and has fantastic striking/submissions. Yes, many times he tested positive, nevertheless i would rank him slightly lower than Fabricio Werdum, but they are pretty much almost even. In accomplishments, Barnett wins, hands down. I really would have liked to see how Fedor would have done against him back in 2009, Affliction. I probably would have predicted Barnett, because he is so well rounded..Fabricio Werdum just got better over time....he certainly progressed as he got older while Barnett regressed.
 
Werdum has had the better career by far imo but if I needed to win one fight and the choice was to pick a guy between these two I would take Josh every time because of his style he is more likely to be in every fight and his chin is pretty fucking solid.

It most definitely isn't by far.......Barnett is more accomplished than Werdum in MMA, and his resume is on par with Werdum's(maybe even better)....plus he was a top 10 fighter his whole career, while Werdum was barely a gatekeeper for most of the part....
 
Werdum and it's not close.

Beat Fedor and Cain. That alone is something that sets him apart from the rest.

Werdum has submission wins over 2 of the greatest heavy weights of all time...Fedors first loss...While barnett was never a pride champion...and was the ufc champion in the old era.
