I clearly just walked straight backwards with my hands down, and I rubbed my eye as the guy that was trying to finish me was right in front of me. A focused, present fighter, that wouldn’t have happened. I didn’t really know what had happened or where I was. So yeah, that was 100 percent the beginning of the end. I didn’t know where I was, that led to him swarming me and punching me, which yeah, for him, the fight wasn’t stopped, he saw blood, and he saw me obviously rocked and did what he thought he’d do.”

I didn’t see him say it wasn’t his own fault. He just said it altered the fight. A fight where he won the first round. I have no problem with what he said.

Considering the sorry state of that division. I have no problem with a rematch. That doesn’t mean he will win, though.

I understand he isn't blaming Figuerdo but Figuerdo literally was just standing there and barely moved his head, that was entirely Benevidez fault and seems weird to bring up.
If Figuerdo moved into that would be a fair point because fighting is dynamic but the guy was literally standing there trying to cover up as Benevidez head crashed into his.
Figuerdo also looks a bit stunned by the headbutt
