A breakdown of the controversy surrounding Aldo's drug test.

Seems fishy to say the least

Taken from Severe MMA website.

Nevada State Athlete Commission’s Executive Director Bob Bennett requested Drug Free Sports to conduct a random performance enhancing drug test regarding Mr. Aldo. The test was requested based on Mr. Aldo’s scheduled championship fight with Mr. Conor McGregor.

The report memorializes the information provided by Mr. Ben Mosier, Drug Free Sport Director of Professional Sports Drug Testing.

TO: Bob Bennett

FROM: Chris Guinty
DATE: June 12, 2015
RE: Jos

19. Ben Mosier reported at 1:39 pm CDT to Chris Guinty that immigration control had been
dispatched to his location to escort him out of the country. Ben Mosier continued to explain to
present authorities that he had a valid work visa issued in 2012 (expiring 2022) from the
Brazilian consulate in Chicago. The federal police officer continued threatening him with arrest
and confiscation of his phone, and refused Ben access to his computer to demonstrate proof of
his work related documents from the Brazilian consulate. Ben was told he will not be allowed to
remain in Brazil for the test that is to occur with the Brazilian MMA Athletic Commission DCO on
June 12. Brazilian immigration officials reported to the training facility and reviewed his
paperwork and deemed he was allowed him to stay in the country and participate in the
collection the following day. The immigration official advised if Ben returned to the country in
the future he would need to pay an administrative fee to rectify his visa issue.

20. Following resolution with immigration officials, collection was scheduled to occur on June 12 at
the training facility with Jos

As a quasi-armchair-bro-scientist, I am aware of methods that athletes can use to mask PED's provided the receive 24 hours notice of the test. Makes you wonder, but, like Conor says: "Let him take roids, who gives a fuck, I'll still take his head off"

I wish this was all so clear beforehand when it first occurred.

Seems like Aldo's camp went through a lot of trouble to delay a test of.

I wonder why.

So in the end, he did give a successful urine sample?

In the end he gave a sample, he killed time to give the sample which is highly suspicious.

I used to be involved in competitive powerlifting in my late teens/early 20's. Didn't use ped's myself but knew many who did.
At tested meets it was common for a lifter to leave the platform straight after his last lift and take a piss, then it would be a few hours before they could give a sample.
Timing was essential and this was before masking agents.

In my opinion what happened with Aldo kinda defeats the whole purpose of random testing and the tactics that were used seem to have been well orchestrated.

So in the end, he did give a successful urine sample?

Time of initial request, June 10th 2pm, time when a sample was given June 12th 12:29pm. If you are allowed delay it nearly 2 days it becomes pointless.

Anyone who doesn't find this dodgy as fuck is a blinkered fanboy incapable of critical thinking. UFC is a joke when it comes to cracking down on PED's, in other sports you'd receive an automatic ban for missing a random drug test, e.g. Rio Ferdinand got a 8 month ban for missing his which is how it should be.

The part I don't understand is that they couldn't get through to Aldo on the 10th, so arranged for the test to be on the 11th.

How is this random?

Doesn't sound good. With all the cases of doping in athletics and other sports, it's become so you assume that where there is smoke there is fire - because there almost invariably is.

So this is basically a guy from the company that (allegedly) screwed up saying they didn't screwed up? How surprising.

how did they fuck the visa thing up? seems like such a basic thing to check, for someone who travels frequently for work. Especially if this was a first-time thing.

Lol at an off‐duty Brazilian federal police officer being there training, then confiscating passport and claiming the guy had an incorrect work visa. Sure, all police officer just break their training session, go check out a guy doing his job on a consenting fighter, have immediate knowledge on all the types of forms one must have in order to perform urine sample collecting and handling and threaten to arrest and deport the guy doing his job.

no comment on the other threats, various names and figures being deployed and Aldo spilling his sample. Highly orchestrated.

Brasil's gonna Brasil.

conor worshippers trying to discredit aldo (or the usual americans trying to discredit brazilians), it will be even worse when he beats their prophet, better get used to it
